Define Child Porn

Speaking of those maps.......

There is a registered sex offender living across the street and two houses down from me. And another one two houses down on the same side of the street from that one. Also, on the street behind me there is a house less within a two minute walk with another registered sex offender.

What the hell. All I could obtain as to the convictions is that one was convicted in his early 30's for child molestation. I noticed that house always appeared to be uninhabited and the yard looks like crap. Next is the guy at the age of 18 or 19 convicted of molesting a male minor. The last is the guy convicted at the age of 15 for incest. I don't want to know.

All I know is I'm going to smoke a cigarette outside now and look askance at all my neighbors and be thankful that drug addicts don't have to register.

I know..its scary sounding..But the information I got was obvioulsy (mostly) very young males convicted of "sexual misconduct" with a "minor".I do NOT believe that that many 18 ,19 year old boys around here are having sex with "children".

There were some creepy ones..Like older men (in the 30,40 and so on) with like "sexual indecency with a child" "exposure to a minor".There was one woman convicted in her 30's with sexual indecency with a child..

And we live in a very low (violent) crime area..One of the safest cities (per capita) in the U.S..

Enjoy your smoke..:)

Hmm..I wondered why they termed it "male minor"??

The application pulls the info from the police records so if the policeman wrote it out that way in his notes and it was put into the database that way, then that's how it ends up on the website. The question is whether it was actually pertinent to the crime or if the officer was just being detailed. No way to know from the web.

Oh and there are no "notes" in a conviction. You are convicted or you arent.

Ah, I went back a read the original post. 18 or 19 year old guy convicted of molesting a male minor. They are saying that it was a homosexual act. By notes, I meant this was how the police wrote it up. Bad wording on my part.

For those that believe 14 year olds are not children, if you had your way, what would that mean legally?

I think there should be a legal classification for teens. A 15 year old isn't an adult, but they're not a child, either.

But that doesn't answer my question...

What would that classification entail?

What would be the difference, legally, between someone who is a "child" and someone who is a "teen" if you were the one to create the new classification?

I've told you twice. If I'm not answering the question you meant to ask, try rephrasing.

He wants to know the details of how you would treat teens legally concerning sex and pornography. What each law would entail and how it would be enforced.

Same question to you Trey, since, I believe, you said you do not consider 14 year olds children ;)

I don't, but I don't have a fully developed legal system for teens worked out either. I'd be happy with folks understanding that if a person can vote, join the military, and/or get married and have kids at age 18 they should be able to have a beer, wine or cocktail without the nannystate breathing down their neck. It the government can't trust 20 year olds to act like adults they are surely not going to consider teens anything more than tall children.

Teens already are taken on case by case basis as it pertains to criminal charges. Many minors are charged as adults for crimes. They "lower" the age for that when it seems appropriate.
