By lying about it, he is indirectly responsible for most of 200,000 deaths.

The US death rate per 1 million population is 589.
In Australia, death per 1 million population is 30.

His instinct is to lie about it.

Other presidents have "dumped bad news on a public unprepared" by both being honest and reassuring as possible by including facts about what the government is doing. The sight of a POTUS calmly dealing with a problem is what we needed.

instead we got lies and more lies and continue to get lies because that's Trump's nature.

I would announce it at the podium. I would announce it calmly, and tell what can be done, and what should not be done. I would try to convince people to do what is best for all of them, based on the facts that we have, and make more announcements as more informarion is learned and verified.
