Crossing guards for proteins in mitochonrial membranes?

Crossing Guard Found in Mitochondrial Membranes | CEH

quote
Two organelles, the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) and the mitochondria, have different complexes; however, there is one complex that is common to both. It is called Ubx2. A recent paper in Natureby Christoph U. Martensson et al., with a ho-hum title “Mitochondrial Protein Translocation-Associated Degradation,” is actually about quality control inside the cells of our bodies. The researchers found some exciting news about this protein complex Ubx2: it acts like a crossing guard, ferrying passengers safely through the membrane. But this is no ordinary crossing guard. It also acts as a bouncer or cop when bad proteins try to clog up the channel. And it has access to the whole search-and-rescue team. Without this entire system knowing what to do in advance of trouble, the whole cell could die.

It's great to have bouncer or cop when bad proteins try to clog up the channel !

Isn't God amazing!

It clearly has a very great survival value, and therefore is not surprising that it evolved to work in both systems inside the cell.

By the way, anthropomorphizing the function of molecules is a fallacious argument...it asserts intent and purpose, which cannot be demonstrated...

It's a shame it doesn't stop cyanide. That will clog up your mitochondria real quick.

Well, everyone need to have a turn at it, you already had yours.
This is an ongoing problem with creationists. A new discovery is made, and of course we do not fully understand it yet. They jump in with "You don't know, must have been God!" Then why that discovery is well understood they just move on to the next new discovery. Of course we don't know how this evolved yet. The article was just published last month. It Is the height of idiocy to constantly jump on new discoveries this way:

Mitochondrial protein translocation-associated degradation

Imagine how God feels when these creationists try to reduce God into an object of scientific study. It is kind of blasphemous what these creationists are doing.

Not as amazing at the frequency with which creationists with degrees produce biased and ignorance-based essays purporting to prop up their religion, hoping that their degree lends credence to their biased creationist spin.

I especially like Ross' cutesy language -

"crossing guard"
"about quality control inside the cells of our bodies"
"it acts like a crossing guard, ferrying passengers safely through the membrane. But this is no ordinary crossing guard. It also acts as a bouncer or cop when bad proteins try to clog up the channel. And it has access to the whole search-and-rescue team. Without this entire system knowing what to do in advance of trouble, the whole cell could die."

Almost as if this guy realizes that he is writing a just-so story for children - children eager to conclude JESUS! regardless of the topic.

'Crossing guard'? 'Cop'? 'Search and rescue team'? My goodness - those sound like PEOPLE! And PEOPLE are made by God, therefore... GOD made this protein!

Ross Anderson, Ph.D. - a regular David Menton...

Oh, and this one is rich:

"It was refreshing, therefore, to see a paper stick to the science."

just a few lines before he ends with this:

"Bible-believers like me joyfully attribute that mind to the wonder-working hand of the Creator God of Genesis."

Hilarious!

Which god were you referring too? The human god created to feel special to try and explain everything in human behavior instead of recognizing the real processes that developed such diversity in life? These claims just show the limitation of the authors understanding of how the natural world works. Oh my its so complex that only a mind operating like a human could have done this!. Human centric arrogance continuing as always with the same untestable and opinionated views.
