As of this writing, Biden is not the official or unofficial victor of the 2020 presidential race. That said, reading the tea leaves, it appears that he will win.

I voted for Trump, but I offer my congratulations to Biden in this hard fought race. The people have spoken, and you, sir, are now president of the greatest nation on earth (apologies to the non-American posters). As you prepare to take office, I implore you to please consider the following:

1. The nation is hurting. We have seen riots. We have seen friends bitterly end decades long relationships because of political differences. We have seen businesses boarding up their stores in fear of devastation. Pease stop the madness. We are not a third world country to be ruled by chaos.

2. Keep in mind that you prevailed by only a razor thin margin. On the campaign trail you frequently promised to be the American president, not the Democrats’ president. Someone who represents all of the country. I ask that you fulfill this promise. Don’t be swayed by the far left. AOC, the squad, and their cohorts will bankrupt and destroy this country with their unsupportable socialist thinking. Half this country unquestionably rejects their position. You, Pelosi, and other a democratic leaders need to stop this tide moving to the extreme far left. Take back control of your party.

3. Trump made significant inroads with the working class with his put America first message. I hope you will do the same. While it is inevitable that this great nation play a key role on the global front, never forget from whence you came — the United States of America. Do not be ashamed to put the country’s needs first. Your priority is to the United States, not the world.

There’s so much more I wish to say, but I’ll stop for now. Again, congratulations. I wish you the nest of health and the best success. Don’t just keep America great. Make it better.

Are you sure it's a done deal?
It is looking pretty grim for Trump.

One reason that Democrats so often "win elections late" is that high population centers tend to be Democratic. Areas of high population take more time to count ballots than areas of low population The areas not counted are those of higher population densities and that is why Trump's numbers keep falling.

It's not quite done yet.
Although Trump's chances have been significantly diminished, it's not quite done yet.

This thread isn’t here to question whether Biden won or not. It assumes (most likely correctly) that he will win. Please contribute with that in mind. If you want to talk about the current and likely status of the electoral votes, there are plenty of other places to do so.

Well, I have Merica Mao on standby if Biden wins. We are preparing his desk now.

That's correct.

Especially if Biden "wins only by a few electoral votes" and has to face faithless electors (see the thread by @Stevicus if you want to know more).
I don't see that being an issue. It was supposed to be the last resort that saved us from Trump last time, but nothing happened.

I almost feel confident saying Biden will win. Based on what's left, Georgia and North Carolina will go Trump. Pennsylvania could go either way. But both Arizona and Nevada are looking good for Biden.

And despite all the Republican efforts to cheat, demean, degrade, and meddle with the election, it wasn't enough.
This isn’t the place for this. I’ll refrain from pointing out the evidence of Dem cheating. Please stay on topic.

If I had to write a letter to the next president, whether Biden or Trump, it'd probably go something along the lines of:

Dear President,

In these next four years in office, I ask only one thing of you: Be nice. Yes, its that simple. Just be nice. When protests form for whatever reason(because they will), don't assume the people are evil, scoundrels who are there to stir trouble, see them for what they are. People. That are hurt. Scared. Suffering, sometimes. Its your job now, to alleviate their pains. Of course, you can't do everything everyone wants you to all the time. But just remember, be nice to these people. If you must disappoint, do it with compassion, not arrogance. Listen. Compromise. When someone throws an idea at you you find reprehensible, understand they're not out to attack you, they're championing for their own ideas. Work with them like they're a friend with whom you disagree, not an opponent on a battlefield. And most importantly, when you make attempt to enact a policy, think about who it will hurt. Will it cut someone's job? Take someone's property? Push someone into poverty? Cause a family to go hungry? Will someone lose their health? Weigh each idea carefully. Sometimes you will make mistakes. But, at least you can go to bed that night knowing you did the best you could(even though some will let you know it wasn't good enough).

You are a role model. Act like one. Exhibit behavior that is proper in a classroom, because children are watching, and do emulate. And, in a position such as yours, so will adults. And here is where being nice is so important... if you make a point to, perhaps the rest of us will be inspired to, too. And trust me, we need that right now.

What on earth are you babbling about?
An announcement will be made contingent on Biden officially winning the presidency.

Otherwise Mao will be placed back into the velvet and glass cabinet that has a sign that says, "Do not open until the takeover by the reds has succeeded".

Still haven't figured out how the political compass works?

Yes I think you make excellent points that Biden's team would do well to heed.

The Trump phenomenon has shown that business as usual is not good enough for the people who fear getting left behind or not progressing, and they are angry and frustrated by the situation. It has also shown the power of the internet to mould how people think, for better or worse. As you say, perhaps the most urgent task, related to the previous point, will be to try to bring the country back together again.
