A few more tips I found from a simple search -

Be grateful everyday.

According to researchers Martin Seligman, Robert Emmons, and Michael McCullough, being grateful can result in feeling better about your life, more enthusiastism and more willingness to help others. Being grateful may even reduce coronary artery disease. Take the time to write down what you're grateful each and every day.

I don’t get why people freak out when they encounter a problem. “This is the worst thing ever!” Every time you experience stress over a problem, you’re basically sabotaging your life. It’s completely unnecessary to ever freak out.

Remember this: A problem is nothing but an unanswered question. So stay calm. And figure out the answer.

Try - happiness comes from solving problems

For example -

Problems are a constant in life. When you solve your health problem by buying a gym membership, you create new problems, like having to get up early to get to the gym on time, sweating like a meth-head for thirty minutes on an elliptical, and then getting showered and changed for work so you don’t stink up the whole office. When you solve your problem of not spending enough time with your partner by designating Wednesday night “date night,” you generate new problems, such as figuring out what to do every Wednesday that you both won’t hate, making sure you have enough money for nice dinners, rediscovering the chemistry and spark you two feel you’ve lost, and unraveling the logistics of ****ing in a small bathtub filled with too many bubbles.

People deny and blame others for their problems for the simple reason that it’s easy and feels good, while solving problems is hard and often feels bad. Forms of blame and denial give us a quick high. They are a way to temporarily escape our problems, and that escape can provide us a quick rush that makes us feel better.

Everyone has a version of "how it is." As you grow, you explore many
different versions, hoping one day that you'll find The Version.
Classically, this process of discovery is "The Quest." You can travel
through many stages as you search.

In Stage One, you *know* something isn't right - probably you. This
uncertain feeling drives you to find an answer. Eventually, you stumble
onto something that you believe is IT. It may take the form of a
metaphysical, religious, or philosophical system, or perhaps some
charismatic leader. Finding It marks the beginning of Stage Two.

I did a search and found this -

"The proximity of happiness is as close as one's own Self; it isn't even a matter of attaining, but only of lifting the soul-shrouding veil of ignorance. The very word "attaining" implies something one wants but does not have—a metaphysical error. Bliss is the irrevocable divine birthright of every soul. Tear away the intrusive veil, and at once there is contact with that happiness supreme. Spirit is happiness. Soul is the pure reflection of Spirit. Body-bound man fails to perceive this because his consciousness is distorted: The lake of his mind is constantly roiled by the incursion of thoughts and emotions."

Happiness

Enjoy!

A few tips for those of you who have read this far - or just scrolled down to the end of the posts ....

Memorize something everyday.

Not only will this leave your brain sharp and your memory functioning, you will also have a huge library of quotes to bust out at any moment. Poetry, sayings and philosophies are your best options.

Develop an endless curiosity about this world.

Become an explorer and view the world as your jungle. Stop and observe all of the little things as completely unique events. Try new things. Get out of your comfort zone and try to experience as many different environments and sensations as possible. This world has so much to offer, so why not take advantage of it?

None of this is easy. In fact, we’re hardwired against being open-minded.

As humans evolved, we developed mental shortcuts in order to help us make snapshot decisions so that we could, well, stay alive. This may have served our ancestors well, as their problems were less about going into a dreaded social event with an open mind and more concerned with avoiding death-by-saber-tooth-tiger. Every day they had to assume the worst possible scenario because this was their method of keeping safe.

Alas, times have changed over the past million or so years.

The self-fulfilling prophecy

One reason that open-mindedness works is due to the self-fulfilling prophecy. The self-fulfilling prophecy is everywhere. It serves as the basis for the “law of attraction” and reinforces our beliefs about ourselves and the world without us even being aware of it.

Happiness versus positivity -

Leads us to the very well mind site -

The ratio of positive to negative thoughts is a major factor in overall happiness. Your brain is constantly monitoring the emotional tone of your thoughts—too many negative thoughts and your brain responds by creating stress and sadness in your body. When you add more positive thoughts, your brain will create relaxation and happiness.

How to Accentuate Positive Aspects and Minimize the Negative

Why is unconditional self-love so important?

Unconditional self-love gives you the strength and courage to try new things and to go after your dreams, because you have insurance – you know that no matter what the outcome, you will still love and accept yourself regardless.

It’s like a safety net; a minimum height below which you will never fall.

Knowing that you have your own back, knowing that your self-worth is not dependent on your success, drives you to try more because you’ve got nothing to lose – which in turn, leads to greater success.

It’s a lot like the saying: success does not bring happiness – happiness brings success.

I have learnt for sure that success doesn’t bring self-love – self-love brings success.

Getting in shape, nabbing a boyfriend or landing a dream career role doesn’t make you love yourself.

Pity many people do the exact opposite :(
