The big day in the NT is the return of Christ, not any forerunner. Every eye will see him and that day is judgement day etc. And it seems like that should be the day prophesied about. 'Cause isn't the main thing the Bab did was declare that the promised one is coming?
The way you have to think of it is that the Bab is the One who ushered in a whole new religious cycle, bringing an end to the prophetic age. That was the day people were waiting for, the return of God. The Bab was the return of God, a Manifestation of God in His own right, not just One who came to announce Baha’u’llah, like John the Baptist announced Jesus.

So that big event was the Coming of the Bab, even though His primary mission was to announce the Coming of One greater than Him, Baha’u’llah.

Of course Christians see the prophesies pointing to Jesus as the one coming. Those prophesies are better fulfilled by Baha'u'llah, not by the Bab. There just isn't much focus on the Bab, making him only important and meaningful to Baha'is.

The return and second coming is of The Christ. The one that brings peace and judges the world. But Baha'is not only have the Bab in there, but also Muhammad. And, the prophesies concerning them aren't all that convincing... like the 3 Woes in Revelation are supposed to be Muhammad, the Bab, and Baha'u'llah.

The Bible prophecies were fulfilled by Baha’u’llah. That is all in Thief in the Night. The only prophecy that was fulfilled by the Bab were prophecies about the gate and the prophecy that points to the beginning of a new religious cycle, the time of the end as prophesied in Daniel 12:

Daniel Chapter 12: 4 But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased. 8 And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things? 9 And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.12 Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days.

Just as the early Church fathers interpreted the Bible the way they did because they could not fully understand it, the Jews interpreted the Torah the way they did because they could not fully understand it. The "Book" was intended to be sealed up until the time of the end, the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days. The 2,300 years was up in 1844 and the book was unsealed.

There is a starting point from which the waiting in Dan 12:12 began, so if one knows how to do the math, the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days comes out to the exact year the Bab came to announce the coming of Baha’u’llah. This and the math is explained by Abdu’l-Baha in Some Answered Questions, 10: TRADITIONAL PROOFS EXEMPLIFIED FROM THE BOOK OF DANIEL.

We have the Bab in there because He was part of the Baha’i Faith since He came to announce Baha’u’llah. We only mention Muhammad because He was one of the three woes prophesy.

Baha’u’llah never said that prophesies wee to be used as proof of His Revelation... Rather He said:

“Say: The first and foremost testimony establishing His truth is His own Self. Next to this testimony is His Revelation. For whoso faileth to recognize either the one or the other He hath established the words He hath revealed as proof of His reality and truth. This is, verily, an evidence of His tender mercy unto men. He hath endowed every soul with the capacity to recognize the signs of God. How could He, otherwise, have fulfilled His testimony unto men, if ye be of them that ponder His Cause in their hearts. He will never deal unjustly with any one, neither will He task a soul beyond its power. He, verily, is the Compassionate, the All-Merciful.”

This thread is simple. This is about the promise of Christ Return.

From a Baha'i point of view this event has happened and was Fulfilled in the Messages of the Bab ("Gate") and Baha'u'llah ("Glory of God", or "Glory of the Lord").

As many await this event, both Christians and Muslims, how did we miss the greatest moment in History to date, would be the over-riding question to consider with this OP.

But lets go for a further three options;

What should have we looked for?
What are you still waiting for?
Why are you sitting with popcorn?

From Christ Jesus point of view, he hasn't returned yet, not until the last Prophecy that Christ Jesus has given in the book of Revelation is fulfilled first,
Which brings about the return of
Christ Jesus.
Which has not happened yet.

The 3 Woe trumpets of Revelation 8:13, is the 5th trumpet, 6th trumpet, 7th trumpet.
Of Revelation, We these 3 trumpets begin to sound, will start the end of this world as we know it, We are now in the 4th seal of Revelation. Waiting for the 4th trumpet to sound that brings about the things in the
4th seal to happened of Revelation 6:7-8

And then after the 4th trumpet is sounded then the 4th vial comes down on the earth, then the 3 Woe trumpets begin to sound, which brings the climax to the end of this world age.

First your being deceived, Christ Jesus himself has given in the book of Revelation, The last Prophecy, That when this Prophecy happens then Christ Jesus returns and not until this last Prophecy happens first, Which is still in the future from us.
From Baha'i point of view is wrong, Christ Jesus himself has given in the book of Revelation all about his return, Christ Jesus has given the last Prophecy of Revelation has to happen first, before Christ Jesus returns. Which hasn't happened Yet.
Which is still future from us.
Who exactly will know more about Christ Jesus return, Than Christ Jesus himself.
Which Christ Jesus has given the last Prophecy in the book of Revelation, that when this last Prophecy happens then Christ Jesus returns and not until, which is still future from us.

If you go by the scriptures in the Bible, it is IMPOSSIBLE for him to have already returned. The verses in Matthew 25:31-46 let us know that when he returns, the nations will be gathered before him to be judged, and he will separate the sheep from the goats, and those who have made it will enter eternal life, and those who didn't make it will enter eternal punishment. So we haven't missed it.

In the discussion with Trailblazer it is the Baha'i belief that the year 1844 is the date of the return of Christ. One of my problems, however, that is not the coming, or more like the announcement, of Baha'u'llah, but is the declaration of his forerunner the Bab. So is there anything you have ever heard or read that has two "Christs" returning? Because that is what Baha'is are saying that there was prophesied "twin manifestations". And that the Bab and Baha'u'llah were both "Christs".
