Contempt runs in both directions.
But if our contempt for China is causing their problems,
does this mean their contempt for us is causing our problems?

Or is it our responsibility to change our relationship
with China, so that its problems will subside?

Many human rights organizations that also heavily criticize the U.S. have pointed out that China perpetrates abuses and persecutes certain groups. I don't think one needs to listen to the U.S. at all to know about those issues.

Is it necessary to turn against one's country to hope that it does better and improves its human rights record?

" Human rights" is USA virtue signaling to
itself. While your society has so many
" rights" its flying apart.

You keep talking about usa causing Chinas "problems".

That is your topic. Im telling you why China
cannot trust America to have honourable intentions.

As I said, we can set aside anything the U.S. says altogether and still find solid evidence of large-scale abuse committed by China. NGOs have long called this out both on the parts of China and the U.S.

Even at the individual rather than state level, I don't view it as tenable to look at what the Uyghurs are subjected to and consider it acceptable or simply move past it without much concern. It would be like turning a blind eye to the USSR's Gulag or North Korea's concentration camps as if the lives of the victims of such oppression had no value.

If shills andvstooges for the USA
make a different story it is not
surprises.

Human Rights Watch has an entire entry on the U.S. and has frequently criticized violations committed by the U.S. I wouldn't consider them to be shills or stooges for anyone, much less the U.S.

Seriously, what do you know ofTaiwan?

I have been there many times.
I've looked into its history because of China's
threat to invade based upon a claim of sovereignty.
It is a lame claim indeed.
Would a visit to Taiwan change my opinion?

BTW, Mrs Revolt has been to both Taiwan & China.
She see's no legit claim upon the former by the latter.[/QUOTE]

Finally something get a little laugh.

Please go back and ttrace the origin of your
idea i was " blaming" for chinese " problems"
Your posts #4 & #31 appeared to claim that.
Were you just addressing claims of China's evil
by giving examples of Ameristan's evil? Sort of
a tit for tat?

FTA: “China, under fire for approving new coal power stations as other countries try to curb greenhouse gases, has completed the first 1,000-megawatt unit of the Shanghaimiao plant, the biggest of its kind under construction in the country.”

China fires up giant coal power plant in face of calls for cuts

Australia is going to need someone to sell our coal to,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,if they stop trying to teach us a lesson by boycotting our products.
I just realised recently that my big bon fires, burning prunings, is carbon neutral. Nothing to do with China but interesting.
Getting back to China, there must be a lot of people who die there. I wonder how big a power station they could have if they burned bodies,,,,,,,,,,,,which no doubt would have to be dried out first, but it would be carbon neutral and for the good of the country and the earth.
I wonder how much power would be produced at the gym if the bikes and treadmills etc were rigged to produce electricity.
Sorry, carry on as if I had not said anything.
