Am I the only one who is getting sick and tired of those damn Chevy ads where they sing, in this gleaming patriotic/country song, "This is our country"? BS!!

YouTube - Chevy Silverado TV commercial "our country" (2006) (warning: this is gonna **** some of you off)

I have seriously wondered if I should write in to Chevy and say, hey, that ad is encouraging me to buy a friggin' Toyota hybrid, not a Chevy!

Now for some comic relief: YouTube - "This Is Our Country" Chevrolet Silverado Ad Parody (contains possibly NSFW material :D)

No, you're not the only one. I've been sick of them since day one, and Ford isn't any better, using Toby Keith to appeal to the a**hole community.

I'm not really bothered by them, but I also like Chevy trucks. :D

But they use Mike Rowe, too, and Mike Rowe frickin' rules!

I don't know who Mike Rowe is.

I see Ford/Toby Keith billboards all over the place, though.

Same here. Although I am at a loss for words as to why at the moment.

I'll have to get back to you on that. :D

Actually, the parts of the song that don't appear in the commercial are good example of left-leaning patriotism:

Personally, I find using this song to sell trucks to the Bible Belt/Red State demographic kinda funny, in the same way that I find it funny that they also use the song Diamonds and Guns by the Transplants to sell shampoo. I think that most of the folks buying the product don't get the reference.
