I like both your happy and your depressing stuff! Hmmm... Maybe mash them together into something bitter sweet? :)
Trigger warning:talk of abuse, death and mental health problems.

Title: Bittersweet
I smile cheerfully
Happy that I am
Able to be myself
Oh but that was not always the case
Who I am I cant deny
Is made from pain and abuse
I have friends people who care
A family I havent seen for so long
Has reentered my life
Nothing last forever
You will die in the end
Alone
And if your thoughts had had there way
You wouldnt have made it this far
I feel like things are looking up
I no longer feel trapped
With the need to hide
Oh but no plans I see
For the future
How can you bare the weight
Of the mental health problems
You try to ignore?
I'll make an impact on this world
Just you wait and see
I'll help as many as I can
And try to do the best that I can be
Ah but your compassion
Comes from your pain
Which drives you to act.
What are you
But someone made of trauma?
Whatever I am I will do what I must
To be the best person I can be
Life is both
Pain and joy rolled into one
It's messy and beautiful
So enjoy it

The one constant
A struggle
Withers without
Such, a life
Until given
Ultimatum
Seek feelings
When all there is
Is confrontation
Don't shy away
Those are yours
This magnet
In power exceeds
The very dipole
As a numb whole
But whole indeed
Given life
Come lemonade
Crush between
The two
And it sustains
It is this one
The only way

This is actually really good. Reminds me of an internal dialogue... A lot of times we doubt ourselves, and while that self criticism is essential to becoming the best version of ourselves that we can be, our view of ourselves can often be skewed and one sided. We are our own harshest critics...

I feel like over time this view of ourselves can become more three dimensional as we develope a broader understanding of ourselves, and we learn to accept and love ourselves more and more. It's not easy to get to that place, but in loving ourselves better, we can better love those around us. That's been my own experience, at least. :)
