Cerro Chajnantor Radio Telescopes

I've been reading about this array of Radio Telescopes that apparently sit at 18,000 feet altitude. There doesn't seem to be a lot of information on the Internet about them. I'm thinking that the operators must be at a remote location at a much lower altitude? From the pictures I have found it does not look like there is any human occupation up there. How can I find out more?

Might want to try HERE or HERE or HERE or HERE

18,000 feet is far to high for humans on a sustained basis. They don't say anything about that aspect of it. Perhaps the instruments are up there and cabling runs down to a much lower elevation? It might be possible for operators to remain up there if supplementary oxygen was provided? Just wondering, really.

La Paz sits at 12,000 feet, so I suppose they have acclimated to it?
