Cartoons attacking Republicans

Ok im sure a lot fo you guys have seen episode 2 of Family Guy season 7 where Stewie and Brian go back in time to world war 2.

There were 2 huge stabs at American leaders and republicans in there.

Stewie: "Why doesn't American invade Germany?"
Brian: "Maybe because there's no oil." (with emphasis on oil)

The second is when Stewie puts on a Nazi uniform and pulls out of it a badge that says Palin and Mcain 08 on it. A reference to socialism in the republican party.

What do you guys think of it? I mean to the rest of the world you guys to your politics very seriously and even more so your patriotism. To us its hilarious, but what do you Americans think of these stabs at the leaders? Is it funny or too far?

The older crowd won't think it's funny for the same reason they don't think shows like Family Guy are funny in general. The younger crowd thinks it's hilarious. All of my conservative friends love Family Guy and would even laugh at jokes at the expense of Republicans, McCain, etc.
