Care for one's own "salvation" or "enlightenment" is the personal concern of the individual

Agree. Although enlightenment might have numerous favorable effects on the individuals around the enlightened person, or even on society as a whole (should enough people become enlightened).

Salvation from what though?

It sounds very individual indeed.

Perhaps if i were criminal i'd need salvation.

I practice forgiveness and mercy though. Thats love without trust.

Neither agree nor disagree.

We are not to look for God to do it for us. But neither can we save ourselves. Grace is not earned, but it is built on developing a relationship. If we cut ourselves off, we are cut off from God. If we repent and turn back to God, then God will give us grace and salvation.

Neither agree or disagree ... if an individual cares about their enlightenment, they won't get 'it' because 'it' involves total non-attachment to getting anything. Enlightenment isn't something you get.

Salvation is a gift. You either have it or you don't.

We aren't instructed to "care for" our salvation but to "WORK OUT our own salvation with fear and trembling" .. the fear and trembling is just to remind us to be SURE we have that salvation. That our faith is in the right place (the right One..)

What needs care is our soul, which yes we are to pay attention to and grow with spiritual food.

Catholic, much?

Salvation is a free gift of Grace. Our purpose in life is spiritual growth, wholeness, and continuing on the Way that Jesus prepares for us. We are saved by Jesus already.

What do we do with our lives? How do we live to the fullest, knowing that Jesus already decided to save us?

And what if said way is Catholicism?

By your tone, it seems you think that perseverance of the saints is a doctrinal given based on nothing more than that its denial would make one 'Catholic'. Do you know what the Catholic view on perseverance even is?

Well, if one cannot lose one's salvation it would follow that spiritual growth (yet alone avoiding sin) is optional at best.
