DawudTalut

Peace be upon you.
Recently Hazrat Khalifatul Masih V (May Allah the Exalted be his Helper) visited Canada for about 6 weeks. By the grace of Allah the Exalted, tour was very successful by all measures in terms of programs with Jama'at and with others….After Jalsa Salana Canada, he (a.t.) had already related people's expressions, administrative matters and thankfulness for Allah's blessings, regarding Jalsa. The following is some mention about his other activities, programs and comments by local dignitaries about gatherings at new Mosques, Parliament, Peace Symposia in Toronto and Calgary.

================================================

Peace and mercy of Allah be on you…… By the grace of Allah the Exalted, Jama'at Ahmadiyya in Canada, like at other places worldwide, is progressive in faithfulness and devotion. Young boys and girls have the spirit to move ahead to participate in work of Jama'at. Allah the Exalted have granted great success in their efforts to make connection with media and press. The same media had been reluctant about our news…..By contrast, in this tour media was following to get interview of Imam Jama'at Ahmadiyya and some of them could not get it because of his tight schedule……Huzur (a.t.) has asked the local Jama'at to apologize personally as well as in writing and keep in touch with them. This is important for future connections.

TORONTO – 3 INTERVIEWS

There were 3 interviews given by Hazrat Khalifatul Messiah V (may Allah be his Helper) in addition to other matters.

Interview by famous network 'Global News' of Toronto was watched by 300,000 people and 100,000 watched its report online.

The second interview was conducted by famous Peter Mansbridge, a chief correspondent of CBC. It was about Islam, world affairs, the advent of Hazrat Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) and there was a lot of discussion about the extremists who have brought bad name to Islam. …. They published a part of it and skipped some parts…… 10 million plus people were reached.

Similar was the one by a national newspaper, Globe and Mail.

MEETING OF HUZUR (A.T.) WITH PRIME MINISTER OF CANADA, MINISTERS AND ADDRESS TO PARLIAMENT

The next program after the Jalsa was in the parliament, in Ottawa, the Capital. It was whole day activity, Huzur (a.t.) met several people. There were cordial separate meetings with Prime Minister and with some of his ministers. Huzur (a.t.) thanked them for their continuous cooperation with the Jama'at.

A session was held in a hall of the parliament. It was attended by 6 ministers, 57 National MPs, 11 ambassadors from different countries, first secretary of the US embassy and representatives from the Libyan embassy, and ministers from the Ontario Province, 30+ dignitaries, Chief of Staff and ministers, a director of Evangelical Fellowship, Chief Communications Officer of the Canadian Red Cross, Assistant Commissioner of the RCMP, professors of University of Ottawa and Carleton University, some Vice Presidents and Deans, Director of Canadian Council for Muslims, representatives of US govt. and certain Think Tank members.

So, this was gathering of people who consider themselves to be at the helms of the world affairs.

Hazrat Khalifatul Messiah V (a.t.) presented to them true teachings of Islam. And he also made clear the duplicity shown by those people and that they should not blame only Muslims. They need to look at their own deeds too. Certain disturbances were created by them in the world.

IMPRESSIONS BY GUESTS

--Judy Segro, Member Parliament (MP)said that the address of the Imam Jama'at was full of advice on how we can escape the third world war. It was evident that we need to work hard and cooperate with each other to save ourselves from that disaster. She further said that the given message needs to be spread around the world.

-- Kevin Waugh, MP, said that (the Imam) shed light on many topics in a few words. Imam Jama'at presented many quotes from The Holy Quran in his address…. This increased his knowledge.

--Israeli ambassador said, "It was an important message of peace about how all religions should respect one another…….That day my thinking changed about Islam and, its appreciation has increased. The address should be published and spread to more people. If the people follow that message, the world's deep and serious problems can be solved." ……Ambassador said that he liked very much, the angle of "tolerance" in the address and that the rights of all the people be given irrespective of whether they are Muslims or Jews.

--Louise Arbour, the senior immigration judge and the recipient of this year's Sir Zafar Ullah Khan Award, said that Imam Jama'at, in clear words, pointed to our shortcomings and weaknesses and shed light on the problems of the western society and that they sometimes show hypocrisy in their actions and they don't give rights to the minorities.

-- Raj Saini, MP, said that it has been told that Islam is a peace-loving religion and the Muslims who don't follow this message of peace are not true Muslims.

-- Majid Jowhari, MP, probably related to some Arab country, said that it was a big challenge that how peace could be established in the world that they heard in that day's message and that they have to solve it together. There are other challenges i.e. economic crisis and terrorism, for all that they have to work hard together.

--Kristy Duncan, MP and Minister for Science (we talk to her otherwise too), made a personal comment: "Once a friend, always a friend!" She stated many points of the address e.g. justice and equity, peace, youth, United Nations and that we should work together for the betterment of the humanity. She says that Jama'at Ahmadiyya is like a gracious family for her.

-- Nicola Di Iroio, MP, said "It was a good speech in which the world problems were presented concisely. You (the Imam) shed light on the world problems with religious perspective. Jama'at Ahmadiyya is a great Jama'at and an example for other organizations. You made us focus that there should be tolerance in religious matters and that aggression leads to more aggression. If we adopt one virtue like tolerance, we can bring about a big change." …..(Imam Jama'at) explained all the problems that the whole world is facing e.g. climate change, economic issues, and civil war. The cause stated was injustice. (He) Talked about the issues of this age, said that there should be no interference in the religious matters and there should be no arms trade that the western countries engage in." ……. "It was a great pleasure to join this program because I heard someone talking about peace. He is introducing Islam to the world and this is the way to do it."

--The German ambassador, Werner Wnendt said, "The Imam Jama'at has portrayed the future. We all want such a peaceful future. We learned from his addressed that Islam is a peaceful religion. We all can live with those who have migrated to Europe. The most important message of the address was that we will have to strive for the good of the world and make sure that the common folks are allowed to live their lives individually. (the Imam) said the governments should not interfere in religious matters. There are issues like hijab and mosques that arise in Europe. Such matters if raised, will create mischief."

-- A chief Imam and a scholar, Muhammad Jabbar, probably from an Arab country, said, "I am a Sunni Imam and won't hesitate to say that this speech has laid the foundation of peace in the world. This speech is direly needed by the world. Imam Jama'at's speech was full of wisdom because he did not blame any single group. On the other hand, he said that the restlessness in the world is due to the weaknesses of all the groups. We should get rid of our weaknesses and shortcomings and then move forward for improvement. In that, he also pointed out the Islamic teaching that no human is devoid of mistakes. It was a nice address. All the needed topics were addressed and the lawmakers were told about the alternative solutions. Islamic point of view was presented in a very comely way and many difficult aspects were presented in such an amicable manner that people's feeling were not hurt."

--Then, a guest, Garnet Janus says, "The message was quite agreeable that how religion and religious leaders can solve the problems of this age and establish peace in the society." He also highlighted the matter that how we can live together in peace by controlling the trading of arms. He added, "Generally, we blame each other, but Imam Jama'at explained that how the west and the other countries can improve the world situation by playing their own parts by themselves.

--A Sikh guest said, "(Imam) said in the parliament that the west is also responsible for the unrest in the world. For example, he cast light on the matter that how the terrorists lay their hands on arms sold by the western countries. (He) made it clear that 20% of the Canadians who go for terrorism are women and they will tinge the next generations in the same color." He said that he never thought about that. He further said, "I liked it much that he (Imam) referred to the holy Quran while saying that we need to need to fulfill our covenants and deliver our trusts and told in a delightful way that Governing is also a trust and government officials should amicably deliver their trusts. Imam Jama'at has also said that the religious scholars have misled the people and the disorder is increasing for that reason. (He) has also challenged the western countries that they claim to establish the freedom of conscience and freedom of rights. Now, it is their responsibility to put their claims to practice and should not interfere in religious matters like ban on hijab and places of worship." He said that the west has been reminded very well.

There were numerous more comments by ministers and others.

--In the coverage of the media, first of all the Prime Minister himself tweeted on his account that he was pleased to see the Khalifa of Ahmadiyya Jama'at in Ottawa that day and posted the picture as well. The tweet spread and the coverage of all the function through newspapers reached four and a half million people through different ways.
