Birthplace of Lord Mahavira

I am intrigued by the absence of good information about the birthplace of Lord Mahavira and have been looking into it. There is a place near Vaishali (Besarh) known as Chak Sikandar. Could Chak Sikandar be a deformed name of Srikundapura where Lord Lord Mahavira's father lived? The only thing that I need to know now is that - is there an old kund in or around Chak Sikandar?
