And what a better way to generate faith and followers, then to promise something one never has to delivery and there is no proof of.

    Not lucky, rational. :)

You're right, it didn't. But it is implied. It's the reason Jesus is referred to as The Redeemer. Redeeming us from what? Being cast out and dying. This is just a semantics debate, and if you want to continue, I'll cede in advance.

What I was attempting to get across still remains: people often see death as punishment.

    Frubals.

Nothing like a little bite of reality for them, then? Maybe taking a bite from that fruit in the tree planted in the middle of paradise was good for them, after all. Not so deluded afterwards.

If they're too stupid to realise that death is not a punishment, but a fact, you can only feel sorry for them.

I mean, what did that parrot in the forests of the Congo do to fall over and die when it's heart stopped beating? That parrot also fears death and tries to avoid it (basically at all costs), but **** happens. No punishment for his or her sins, was it?

It may have been pointed out already, I am just jumping on here at this point... Prohibition against Incest does not occur until well after Adam, Eve, Cain, etc. It is handed down in the Mosaic law: Deuteronomy 27:23, Leviticus 18:17 and 20:14. Until then this law would not apply.

So sistermongering was a-okay until 1500 B.C.? And it's okay for everyone who isn't Hebrew?

Or perhaps Genesis 1:26 and chapter 2 are referring to 2 different sets of mankind? Who did Cain build the city for? 5 people?

PS Whether Sarah really was Abraham's sister is up to debate if he was lying on those two occasions.
