No, the election was not stolen. That is the Big Lie told by Trump.

Trump had his chances to prove his case in court numerous times. He failed. He lost the election fair and square according to numerous republican officials.

Fair and square would not include news and social media sites deliberately concealing evidence about Biden and his family in order to tip the scales.

Even if that were to be true, there is such a thing here in the U.S. called "freedom of speech". I may strongly dislike Fox "News", but they have that right as well.

Were the votes free? Was the information available at all? Media have always been biased.. look at the yellow press 100 years ago.

Freedom of speech now equals the media has the right to lie to us? No. Especially no, because this was a coordinated scheme across many platforms.

Sadly (for me, not for you) freedom of speech includes the freedom to lie. Imagine you couldn't. Religion would be wiped out within one lifetime. I'd much prefer people had a right to their own opinion - but not their own facts.

This was deliberate withholding of facts.

Yes, they do as that's what "freedom of speech" means and implies per the 1st Amendment: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

OTOH, fascists and neo-fascists don't like freedom of speech, which is why the NAZI's, for example, banned it and took over all forms of media in Germany.

Like what has happened here? The liberals basically runs the media. Getting unbiased news is almost impossible.

The oligarchs own the media. What you perceive as "liberal" is sanctioned by Bloomberg, Murdoc and Bezos.

Which is why using multiple news sources is so very important, which is what I do.

BTW, maybe consider getting off your use of stereotyping because it is a form of dishonesty.

That has been done since time immemorial. Kennedy's affairs were kept from the public. FDR's disabilities were downplayed. Reagan's dementia was ignored. Trumps lies were forgotten.

Trump was lying more than anyone else. He does it as a matter of course, even when it isn't necessary. Fox News regularly manipulates information to promote their candidates, including failing to report facts that are unpleasant for their side.

The public has to be diligent and *look* for the facts. Looking in more than one venue and attempting to find more than three points of view is a good idea. Looking at foreign news sources also provides perspective.

No news is objective. There is always and has always been bias. The key is to know the biases and look at several different sources to be able to interpolate the best guess for the truth. That is what it takes to be an educated voter. If ALL of your news comes from Fox News or from CNN, you are not an educated voter.

And I strongly disagree. it has been the Republicans that have used power plays to stop their opponents from doing anything good, even when they originally had the ideas. It has been the Republicans that are destroying the basic institutions of our government, politicizing the Justice Department, refusing to investigate those of their own, etc. it is the Republicans that have chanted 'lock her up' while allowing their president to get away with far worse crimes.

Yes, both sides have their issues. That is partly being human. But look at which side simply refuses to consider that their Supreme Leader might have been corrupt. Look at which side steals Supreme Court positions. Look at which side refuses to let their opponents do necessary actions because it might look good. Look at which side tried to stop the Congress from doing its job on January 6. Look at which side was calling for the assassination of members of Congress on the other side.

    It isn't the Democrats.

Look at how many life-long Republicans have been reprimanded for simply stating that Trump lost the last election.

Look at how many life-long Republicans have had death threats leveled against them because they criticized Trump.

Look at how the Republicans have promoted the ideas of Viktor Orban, saying this is the type of system they want.

This is the sort of 'Party Purge' that authoritarian politics revels in. And the Republican party is now clearly and openly fascist and authoritarian. They are under a 'cult of personality' that is characteristic of fascist states.

And that is a very direct threat to democracy and our republic.

Ever heard of Howard Hughes? Yellow journalism? And how it lead us into the Spanish-American war?

Coordinated schemes of lying across many platforms is age-old. It is nothing new.

That simply means you need to seek out better news sources.

Garbage. Liberals don't own Fox News or Breibert. They don't own foreign presses, which are easily available today. Conservatives own a great deal of the press. They just want to claim it is all owned by liberals. it plays into their story.

The problem isn't the 'liberal bias'. it is that the truth doesn't correspond to your desires.

Not even close to the way it is now. In the days of Walter Cronkite this kind of thing would not be tolerated. And especially when it was literally a conspiracy to conceal information in order to sway an election.

Better sources than the MSM? Then CNN or NBC?
    Sure do.

Yes, the Republicans pushed the repeal of the Fairness Doctrine. That is why we got conservative 'talk radio'.

By the way, the fairness doctrine didn't apply to the newspapers (which were the primary news source for most people), but only to broadcast news (radio and TV).
