I'm not that bothered about modern videogames so I'd rather invest in retro games.

I already have:

Metal Gear Sold 1 - 4 and Peace Walker
Tekken 3 , Tag Tournament, 5, Street Fighter X Tekken
Star Wars Battlefront II
Star Wars Starfighter
Lord of the Rings Two Towers and Return of the King
Splinter Cell (never completed)
Spyro 1 to 4 (didn't complete the latter)
Getaway and Getaway Black Monday
GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas (only completed the latter)
Dragonball Z Budokai, Burst Limit, Raging Blast 2
Final Fantasy 7-9

Hmm...trying to remember back.
Bully
Scarface
Soulcalibur (II I think?)
Gran Turismo whatever number it was. Maybe the first one?
SSX Tricky
SOCOM
Indigo Prophecy (or Farenheit, depending on market)
Deus Ex

Games I played a lot:

GTA: San Andreas
Pro Evolution Soccer
.
.
.
.
The Warriors
Gran Turismo
Fight Night
Tiger woods golf

I remember playing that a fair bit and enjoying it, but I can't remember any of the gameplay or story at all now. Quite strange.

It was. I still have the game too.

I wonder if there are any retro consoles that play old disc games for Playstation and Xbox?

I would love to play Operation Flashpoint Elite again from the orginal Xbox ported over from PC. It was the entire milsim with the complete editor.

It never made the backward compatibility list.

Probably due to the fact that Codemasters and Bohemia hate each other.

My intention is to buy a couple of each consoles off of eBay and some sort of adapter that converts AV/scart to HDMI.
Apparently wireless controllers for PS2 need batteries though

Not exactly what you asked, but are you aware of Playstation (retrogamingstores.com) ?

Yes, good game, especially if you like the film.

No idea how well it has aged, but was definitely one of my favourites at the time. I'd probably put it in the category of very good rather than great games though.

I loved the Legacy of Kain series over ps1 and ps2. LoK: Soul Reaver 1 and 2 still has some of the best video game voice acting imo.

I've been playing retro as well. And yes, gaming in the past was much better than gaming today.

(With few exceptions)
