Best fast food ever?

So as an Aussie, I’ll admit that my relationship with fast food is one of enviously looking at my US counterparts. Because holy hell you guys have like a bajillion fast food restaurants. We have like a Taco Bell here and there, and I swear whenever an In and Out burger does like a “pop up stall” thing they have lines a mile long. Every time. We also have far smaller portion sizes and likely slightly different ingredients

Still which one is the best? Your absolute fave? Best comfort food? Or even just the best when in a rush?

Bonus question, which fast food restaurant do you wish you had near you?

For me, I will always have a soft spot for the good old fashioned McMuffin from Mickey D’s. A staple hangover food over here.
I also quite enjoy Getta Burger, which is a US style (or maybe US import) burger joint boasting huge burgers.
Hogsbreath Cafe is always nice for a bit of BBQ.
I also like a local chain here called Zambrero. Which is kind of like “white people Mexican” if it was made by fitness junkies. But omg their spiced cauliflower is amazing. That’s coming from someone who normally hates cauliflower.
I also like this burger crossed with a burrito from the Burrito Bar. Again not sure if it’s just an US emulation or import.

As for something I wish was near me, Wendy’s. Not to be confused with the ice cream shop of the same name in Australia. Omg I saw on Good Mythical Morning the Baconator and was stricken with jealousy. I discovered I vastly preferred Popeyes when I visited Cali and I am saddened we don’t have it here. Even though weirdly all the local restaurants here have recently decided to try to emulate KFC. It’s just odd. Even Hungry Jack’s (Burger King) now have their own version of the zinger burger. And even a chain that specialises in roast chicken (Red Rooster) now have fried chicken wings ala KFC. I’m still shook over that, tbh
I also kind of want a Sonic’s just for the waffle fries.

Probably falafel in a pita. Although a good kosher pastrami on rye bread is good too. Or maybe lox in a bagel.

    Now I am hungry.

A falafel sandwich in a pita would be more nutritious.

Wendy's isn't all that it's cracked up to be. It used to be a lot better.

McDonald's is okay in a pinch, since they seem to be faster and more efficient than other fast food places. In and Out is actually pretty slow by comparison.

Carl's Jr. is sometimes pretty good, as well as Jack in the Box, Arby's.

    I also like Whataburger.

Nice! I didn't know you were a fellow vegetarian.

Check out Pita Pit if you have one nearby. Lots of choices!

Aside from McD. there aren't many US style fast food chains here. I don't like them anyway. Most fast food here is Turkish, some chains but mostly privately owned shops selling Döner, Lahmacun and "Rollo". Much better and much cheaper than McD's.
But the best fast food/ street food is Southeast Asian.

I'm more a fan of slow food but did take a liking to the Canadian Charcoal Pit. A small chain in and around Manchester. They make their own burgers and cook them to your liking right in front of you on a charcoal griddle. Add the mind boggling range of sauces, chutneys etc and you have got what a foodie would hall a decent burger.

Hell no. Actually, awhile back, they fought against the very concept of such a thing quite vocally(vegetarianism isn't what McDonald's is about, basically is what they said), but after business suffered enough, there's rumors they're considering a veggie burger.

Oh ours entered a sort of “veggie wars” with Hungry Jacks. I think to compete with their “Rebel burger options” basically burger patties without meat.

The only burger joint here that offers veggie burgers is Burger King.
