The first and most important step is to find the god or the goddess who lives within you.

Thoughts on how to find your inner God/Goddess?

Do you mean to say that all these atheists have lost touch with the God inside every one of them?

You may have some difficulty arousing their interest in your thread :)

Personally, I do actually try to see the divine in everyone - no matter how obnoxious they may be. That's just a sign that they are frustrated by their own suffering.

I am not suggesting that all atheists are or can be obnoxious! Some of them are kind & friendly and law-conforming citizens.

I shall watch this thread to see what people have to say.

    :)

This is called Apotheosis. It's canon in many religions, aside from Islam which rejects it. But I reject Islam, so go right ahead.

    Where to Find God

In reality, the universal space is multidimensional. Just like sunlight and water co-exist within the same volume, sunlight moving freely through the water with little or no interaction with it, just like radio waves of different frequencies are present deep in the space in and out of our bodies — even so multiple worlds exist everywhere deep inside multidimensional space, in and out of all material objects, be they in solid, liquid or gaseous states. Those worlds are abodes of spirits and God.

The scale of multidimensionality is a special scale of energy states, which represent fundamentally different ranges. When studying this scale, the vector of one’s attention should be directed not upward or downward, or in any conventional direction, but inward. Layers of the multidimensional space (eons in Greek or lokas in Sanskrit) are ranged by their coarseness-subtlety.

The plane of the subtlest energies is God in the aspect of the Creator. He is perceived as infinite and purest Light, which is similar to tender and warm sunlight at dawn-time. He is formless. All forms vanish on this plane.

Our souls are divine. I think the greeting 'namaste' says it all. :)

Provide a channel. See what emerges.

    Art, music, writing.

Get physical. Seriously physical. Train, push limits. Take up surfing or wilderness hiking.

Learn to talk with birds and cats.

    Practice the power of visualization.

Do ****, don’t just think about it.

Switch on your mojo. Practice relaxed alertness.

Maybe, by rituals, introspection, contemplation. You will find in the history of human religious traditions many tools you can use. I think the first step is not to define the God/Higher Self within you, but to look what is inside you.
The biggest problem is that before searching, people define what they want to find, or use an existing description to be able to recognize what is described. Then they will get exactly what they want to find because they have planted it as an idea in their psyche. Sometimes I meet people who talk about God Consciousness and they give you the rules, the terms and the practice to find God Consciousness. And, surprise, you will find God Consciousness in the same way like these people. But it is only a construction in your mind, an illusion. So I think the first step is to see what can be found.
