Is that what you think?
I mean, since you’re an atheist, I find that comment from you strange.
Or just a euphemism?
It is a euphemism. She is dead and gone forever. Does that make you feel better? Actually when a person dies they live on the only way that they can, in the memories of others. Remembering a person when they die keeps them "alive" in that sense for a bit longer.

Yes, we finally agree (mostly) on a topic! Yippee!

(Although I don’t believe she will be “gone forever.” One day, she will be resurrected, ie., brought back to life. John 6:44; Acts of the Apostles 24:15)

Does that make you feel better?
It does; thank you so much for making me feel better! How kind.

Memories doesn't keep anyone or anything alive.
It keeps the thoughts of them alive..nothing more.
