Myanmar leader Aung San Suu Kyi has denied security forces carried out ethnic cleansing of the country's RohingyaMuslims, despite the UN and human rights groups saying a crackdown by the army may amount to crimes against humanity.

It's such a shame - she had such potential to be a great humanitarian & influence for positive change in Burma. It seems, however, that power has corrupted her to the extent she think it's okay to deny the ethnic cleansing of the Rohingya.

She was doing so well. What I think may be happening here is that she thinks that if she stands up for the Rohingya, she'll be booted out of power immediately and won't be able to keep working for the good of anybody. Which, if it is the case, must be a bloody horrible decision to make.

Myanmar has launched its own probe into possible crimes in Rakhine and appointed former UN chief Kofi Annan to head a commission tasked with healing long-simmering divisions between Buddhists and Muslims.
Doesn't have a very good track record why do they call him?
He got Syria Rwanda and darfar.
