Assessing claims about Tim Walz’s military service

Kathryn

It was on fire when I laid down on it.
Tis a pity that you care about such minutiae,
yet don't complain about Trump being a
treasonous rapist.
I care considerably about military service, since basically my whole family is military or a military dependent. It means more to me than Trump, who I AM NOT VOTING FOR ANYWAY.

It's peculiar that a person who served in the uniformed service part time I might add, would be so chummy with a communist regime.

There's your hero, Trump, who gushed that Kim Jong Un loved him. Why did Kim love Trump so much? And why does Trump love Kim so much? I'm reminded of the old saw about people who live in glass houses throwing stones.

Why not read history rather than spout utterly wrong accusations. Walz has history with China - it's more hawkish than critics claim
But if anything, Mr Walz has been pretty hawkish towards its government, particularly on human rights.
As a congressman, he met the Dalai Lama and – before his jailing – the high-profile Hong Kong democracy activist, Joshua Wong. Both men would place at the top of the Chinese government’s list of public enemies.
In terms of his congressional record, there is not much for China to like.
He spent over a decade on the Congressional-Executive Commission on China – a body focused on scrutinising the Chinese government’s human rights abuses.
In 2016, the same year he met the Dalai Lama, he also invited the then leader of Tibet's government in exile, Lobsang Sangay, into his congressional office to meet a group of Minnesota high-schoolers.
...
Foreigners who were in China at that time "are the most anti-China", said another user.
Indeed, Mr Walz has often spoken publicly about his horror at the crushing of the Tiananmen protests, and in 2009 he co-sponsored a resolution in Congress marking its 20th anniversary.
His wife Gwen has said that the events had such an effect on Walz, that he chose 4 June - the day Beijing sent the troops in - as the date of their wedding five years later. She said that "he wanted to have a date he'll always remember".

So a middle aged man at 41 who served for served for decades and retired after his initial retirement date and retired when he did to run for office is a coward?
Yes, he left at the end of his fourth 6 year enlistment and didn't reenlist just so he could finish a few courses to improve his pension. This was also after surgery to regain some of the hearing he lost due to his proximity to howitzers firing during his service.
Must have been a sucker and a loser as well.

It's part of a pattern on the right - attack those who served honorably. The rat**** right went after a Vietnam Veteran who had LOST HIS ****ING LEGS in the war. It's part of their playbook and this is no different. Their lack of honor of democratic veterans is utterly vile. The rat****ers even triggered a case of PTSD on the disabled vet Cleland.

And yet who you refuse to criticize, while critiquing the other side endlessly, all the while maintaining that you won't be voting for that side, either. It's a little confusing, actually.

Well, let me clear it up for you. I am a Republican, not a Democrat, meaning that I prefer the Republican platform over the Democrat platform. I do not live in a swing state so I will be writing in a name instead of voting for Trump, who I cannot stand. Capiche now? OMG I have stated that over and over again.

Yup, you and 40% of the US.

Meanwhile the 60% of us that do will continue to give you whom you deserve.

Sigh. I didn't say I am not going to vote. I simply am not going to vote for Trump. I do not live in a swing state for the record.
