    IMO ancestor veneration extends beyond the immediate family/ancestry one has.

    For example. I honor ancestors I've never met (doesn't require a name, or having known them in life). It's about visualizing the past even before one was born.

    That has not been a part of any practice i have followed in my life :)

    If you want some unsolicited advice, I’d say don’t give up completely. Even if you can’t make a living from it and have to do something else to pay the bills, try to find time to paint.
