She starts by drinking a large mugful of ayahuasca. Once the trance state is achieved she dons her ritual headgear and commences a shamanic dance lasting up to two hours. Communion with the ultimate completed, she returns the headgear to its magic-confining box and then falls into a deep sleep until morning. When she awakes she can't recall any of the events from the night before but often wonders why all the cats are sitting in a semi-circle around her and watching her intently.
