How will humanity cope with, or even solve, its ecological and industrial sustainability issues?

The problem of lack of sustainability is, in my opinion, a symptom of the problem of selfishness which is rooted in delusion. People who are selfish as a way of life are miserable. Morality tells those of us who are listening that we are all one. When beings are removed from ignorance of selfish attachment, they will cease to suffer and cause suffering.

All religions rooted in enlightenment speak of a day where all beings are removed from ignorance and the knowledge of God covers the earth across all races and species, like the oceans cover the sea.

Sorry if this comes off as rude, but I didn't ask for moral pieties about human nature and whatnot. I'm asking how we'll actually deal with these problems, what the future holds.

You are a prophet, aren't you?

Actually, the only religion I can think of that prophecies this is Buddhism.

If you are looking for future telling, you've come to the wrong prophet. Future telling is a pursuit for the ignorant as we have free wills upon which the future is contingent. As a prophet, I have no power to tell you about the plans of man. I can only tell you about the destiny which God has set before all life since the beginning.

The wolf will live with the lamb,
the leopard will lie down with the goat,
    the calf and the lion and the yearling together;
and a little child will lead them.
The cow will feed with the bear,
their young will lie down together,
and the lion will eat straw like the ox.
The infant will play near the hole of the cobra,
and the young child put his hand into the viper’s nest.
They will neither harm nor destroy
    on all my holy mountain,
for the earth will be full of the knowledge of the Lord
as the waters cover the sea.

    Isaiah 11:6-9

I first attained Consciousness on September 11, 2010 when I honestly assessed a motive I had for sending my ex-girlfriend a romantic text. I was a person extraordinarily lacking in self-awareness. When I realized that my motive was selfish with attachments yet disguised as selfless, I further realized that everything I ever did for her followed the same pattern.

The realization made me a prophet because it caused me to understand love by seeing that my love was a lie. Hypocrisy exposed, my ego shattered there on the spot. This is not to say it hasn't recrystallized many times along the way, causing me to screw up, suffer, and cause suffering, but every single time I reshatter my ego, I have become wiser for it.

This daily death of ego can be mastered. I have not done it yet. There is damage from my past that still affects me. But it is melting away every day.

I am becoming the man I never got to be.

Guess I'll have to junk my definition of prophecy.

One could just as cavalierly say that incompatibilism is a conceit for the ignorant. Surely the mind of god can comprehend the infinite possibilities, the forking roads of choices and chance. Not his prophets though, eh? Funny thing, I thought that's what being a prophet was about.

I'm not asking about man's plans, I'm asking about what the future actually holds.

You can't perceive the future yet claim to see the destiny God has appointed. How does that work?

I like this - a lot, but I don't think Abrahamic religions are enlightenment based.

As you had been performing selfish reasons thinking they are selfless, only to realize otherwise; would you describe attaining Consciousness as (for lack of better words; I understand these can be really difficult to describe) joyous, stressful, or something else?

Most beings are not present, because the thoughts they think, the words the say, and the actions they do are selfishly attached to what they want in return in the future. When they give gifts, they never truly give, because the gifts from a selfish heart are not gifts, but trades. Herein lies the source of all anxiety.

Detach from the world and you will know the logical end of all anxiety and unspeakable joy.

We all obviously have free will, but your primitive concept of omniscience would never allow room for such a free will. Your formulation of God must necessarily know the future. It doesn't take a genius to see the philosophically untenable position that results where free will and a future that is already written coexist.

The path that God has set for us to be able to return to him is our destiny, but this is not something God is willing to force upon anyone. Perhaps you are waiting for another lifetime.

Your condescending attitude reflects your egotism and your ignorance of philosophy reflects your lack of true realization.

I've seen the future. I've seen the forking branches of time. Glimpses in both cases, and I claim no special realization or attainment.

But I know enough with surety that my "primitive" view is certainly more correct than a timeblind god.

You might want to do some reading on compatibilism, especially in the context of the multiverse interpretation. I don't think I need to connect the dots for you.

On what authority are you a prophet? A prophet is a representative of someone else.

I thought it was rather obvious that I am claiming to be a representative of God.

Do you claim this of yourself or has God somehow appointed you? What sign or vision have you received to suppose you are a prophet?

All are appointed by God. The path to prophethood is open to all.

The first qualification is understanding and acceptance of yourself.

Do you seriously believe you're a capital-P Prophet, as in "God's mouthpiece?"

What is your definition of "prophet"? In my religion, future telling is a major part of the job in pretty much every case.

Do you feel that because you speak for what you believe is philosophic Truth that this is what makes one a "prophet"? Or do you believe you are actually communicating the will of a higher Sentient Being?
