JS,
Please go back and read the thread and you will find where this discussion became pertinent to the one on Muhammad. Start with post #14 (or slightly before).

Yeh I would say there are some more or less convincing prophecies about Prophet Muhammad... I note the one about Kedar and the prophet raised from your brethren..but I don't buy into all of them...

And i think while there is some truth to prophecies in the Bible on the other hand people should be careful that they can to read "too much" into Scriptures.

So the problem is unwarranted interpretations of scriptures that can occur.. I would say there maybe two or three more or less convincing provicies and the rest could be "forced"...so we should be careful.

And while there are many Biblical prophecies, some refer to different prophets not all refer in my opinion to Prophet Muhammad.

To get back to the main topic of the thread, for those interested in further research, the talks of Dr. Jamal Badawi from Canada on Muhammad in the Bible are highly recommended:

http://nadeem.lightuponlight.com/indexaudios.html#Jamal_Badawi

His talks include a series titled "Muhammad in the Bible" and includes the following talks recorded in Canada (each around 30 minutes):

A Prophet Like Unto Moses
About The Qur'an And Ka'bah
Characteristics (Isaiah 42)
Jesus Prophecy (Paraclete)
Lineage Of The Awaited Prophet(saw)
Location (Paran Macca)
Methodology
Other References And Conclusions

All the best.

if we are talking about christian claims of prophecies of jesus in Tanach, then yes you are right, since the thread's OP dealt w/ biblical verses interpreted to mean the coming of Muhammad as the Seal of the Prophets, but the conversation has gone from that to a quesiton of the nature of Jesus as well as the concept of "annointed one/ones" and the word "Messiah"

Sometimes is is necessary to clarify when it's obvious people are talking at cross purposes. This does not mean the thread has digressed.

Another proof from the 7th. century.

When Prophet Muhammad peace be upon arrived in Madinah after having left Makkah, the Jews of Madinah immediately recognized him as the seal of prophets described in their scriptures.

Despite that, some Jews refused to accept him, though he is a descendent of Prophet Abraham as they were expecting him to be from the lineage of Prophet Isaac, not Ishmael , peace be upon them both.

Others, like Abdallah Ibn Salam, one of the leading Jewish rabbis in Madinah at the time, asked him a few questions, and when they got the right answers became Muslims.

God in The Qur'an describes how clear they recognized Muhammad, the seal of prophets, in the following verse:

"Those to whom We gave the Scripture know him [i.e. Prophet Muhammad] as they know their own sons. But indeed, a party of them conceal the truth while they know [it]." (2:146)

This site, Jews for Allah, gives further details on Muhammad and Judaism:

i find the vilification of Moses to be extremely distrubing...
Where did you get that from, JS?

Prophet Moses peace be upon him is mentioned tens of times in the Qur'an in a very positive way, and he is held in high esteem and respect by all Muslims.

apparently we need to scan through the links we post...
from the Jew-for-allah.org web page

Was Moses or Muhammad Kinder to Jews ?
Both Prophets allowed Jews to return to Israel after being exiled by pagans.

Both Prophets protected Jews from neighboring pagans

Both Prophets devoted their final days to the enlightenment of the Jews

Although only one of these Prophets displayed tolerance, mercy, and love for the Jews, Muhammad.

then the link below has the following...
Was Moses a Terrorist ?
The Zionist Media, the inventor of the "Muslim terrorist" label, as Hitler utilized the "Christ killer" stereotype, quickly video taped Palestinian children celebrating as a way to gain political points with the West.

Who is a terrorist ? By today's definition, a Terrorist is one who is against Freedom and kills a mass number of people because of their location, beliefs, or association with the terrorist's target.

With present and past definitions of the term "Terrorist", we discover in the Jewish Bible that the father of the Jews himself, Moses, was the deadliest Terrorist. Moses has terrorized a countless number of Freedom loving Jews and non-Jews, but to bring the point more to home for the Zionists, we will only list the thousands of Jews that Moses has terrorized with death;
then it proceeds to describe the way in which Moses "terrorized" the Jewish people
2 Rabbis; " for offering strange fire before the Lord", two sons of Aaron, priests of the tabernacle, are struck dead. Lev 10:1-2

garbage! someone needs to reread that passage...Moses wasn't even in the tabernacle at the time (see Lev. 9:23)

here's a classic...

14,700; Israeli protesters killed by plague who object to Moses about the prior killing of the 250 Jewish princesses. Num 16:41-49

THERE ISN'T EVEN A NUMBERS 16:41!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and hey 3 times a charm right....

24,000; Israelites who cohabitated with Moabite women and worshiped Baal. "And the Lord said to Moses, take all the heads of the people, and hang them up before the Lord against the sun..." Num 25:4,9
holy crap! read the text it is HaShem ordering the execution, not Moses!

This does not include the general body counts given with older Israelis who were ordered to wander the desert for 40 years to die in the wilderness Num 32:13 nor the ones stricken by a plague for building a calf Exodus 32:30-35

These may indeed boost the total figures much higher

OMG!!!:banghead3

In Conclusion, yes, terrorism is sad and uncivil, but rather than the Zionists label and demonize Muslims as terrorists, they need only to look into their Bibles to see the worst terrorists of all, Moses, or was God using Moses? if so, what were the reasons?

HO...LY...CRAP
oh so nowwwwwwwwwww we try and understand the Divine purpose behind it. Nevermind that this site just dedicated an entire page to demonizing Moses.
But i suppose when you want to convince Jews that your prophet is greater than any of theirs you demonize the greatest of the Jewish prophets:mad:

I found this interesting. The KJV does have Numbers 16:1-50, let's compare the texts:

Torah said:
Numbers 16:35 And a fire went forth from the Lord and consumed the two hundred and fifty men offering the incense. Chapter 17
1 The Lord spoke to Moses, saying: 2 Order Eleazar son of Aaron the priest to remove the fire pans--for they have become sacred--from among the charred remains; and scatter the coals abroad. 3 [Remove] the fire pans of those who have sinned at the cost of their lives, and let them be made into hammered sheets as plating for the altar--for once they have been used for offering to the Lord, they have become sacred--and let them serve as a warning to the people of Israel. 4 Eleazar the priest took the copper fire pans which had been used for offering by those who died in the fire; and they were hammered into plating for the altar, 5 as the Lord had ordered him through Moses. It was to be a reminder to the Israelites, so that no outsider--one not of Aaron's offspring--should presume to offer incense before the Lord and suffer the fate of Korah and his band. 6 Next day the whole Israelite community railed against Moses and Aaron, saying, "You two have brought death upon the Lord's people!" 7 But as the community gathered against them, Moses and Aaron turned toward the Tent of Meeting; the cloud had covered it and the Presence of the Lord appeared.

KJV said:
Numbers 16:35 And there came out a fire from the LORD, and consumed the two hundred and fifty men that offered incense. 36 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 37 Speak unto Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, that he take up the censers out of the burning, and scatter thou the fire yonder; for they are hallowed. 38 The censers of these sinners against their own souls, let them make them broad plates for a covering of the altar: for they offered them before the LORD, therefore they are hallowed: and they shall be a sign unto the children of Israel. 39 And Eleazar the priest took the brasen censers, wherewith they that were burnt had offered; and they were made broad plates for a covering of the altar: 40 To be a memorial unto the children of Israel, that no stranger, which is not of the seed of Aaron, come near to offer incense before the LORD; that he be not as Korah, and as his company: as the LORD said to him by the hand of Moses. 41 But on the morrow all the congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron, saying, Ye have killed the people of the LORD. 42 And it came to pass, when the congregation was gathered against Moses and against Aaron, that they looked toward the tabernacle of the congregation: and, behold, the cloud covered it, and the glory of the LORD appeared.
