Arrested Bahá'ís Accused of Terrorism in Iran

This is from a family member in England; the source is the Islamic Republic's (Official) News Agency. The original document in Farsi is located under the English version.

As we had suspected, the next step in the Iranian Regime's concocted plan against the Bahá'ís is now slowly emerging. Below is an IRNA (the official news agency of the Islamic Republic) interview with an officer of one of the well-known Islamic regime's political parties with strong anti-Bahá'í sentiments regarding the arrested Bahá'ís. The article is titled "Terrorist Collaborations between America and the Bahá'ís." Here's a summary of the article in English:

IRNA, the official news agency of the Islamic Republic quotes Mr. Hamid Reza Taraqqi, the Assistant to the International Affairs of the "Party of Allied Muslims" (a notoriously anti-Bahá'í political party, aligned with the Hujjatiyyeh movement that is represented by both the Supreme Leader and the current Iranian president) is officially claiming that Bahá'ís have now turned to armed opposition against the Islamic Republic. Mr. Taraqqi accuses the seven arrested Bahá'ís of collaboration with American intelligence officials in arranging the Shiraz bombing (which, officially, resulted in 12 casualties and 190 injuries). He adds that, as long as Bahá'ís had not started armed opposition against the Islamic Republic, the people and the Regime allowed them peaceful co-existence with other Iranians. But now that they have started armed resistance, "the people of Iran expect[1] the judicial and intelligence officials of the country" to give the Bahá'ís the same treatment meted out to the leftist Mujahedin (i.e., branded as "Corrupters on Earth" and thus condemned to execution).

Mr. Taraqqi also adds that "In the last few years, especially in this decade, Bahá'í plans in Iran have entered a new phase: that of intelligence, spying, and terrorist activities. This sect, in collaboration with America and England, has, during this period, succeeded in diverting its actions towards measures against the regime and the overthrow of the government. The terrorist, intelligence nature of these activities by an outlawed sect claiming religious status provides the government with legal means to act against the group as an anti-regime and anti-Revolution group.

Mr. Taraqqi continues that the American support of Bahá'ís immediately after their arrest, shows their sensitivity towards their "agents inside Iran" and, thus, the U.S. clamour of "human rights violations." Why isn't the White House concerned about the rights of the suppressed "Davoudiyyeh Sect?"[2] This is because this sect acts against the interests of the U.S." The interview ends with a clear and severe threat against the Bahá'ís:

"Now that the illegal Bahá'í sect has turned to activities against the Iranian people and the Regime, people[3] expect decisive actions against them."

Notes:

[1] This is a well-known method often employed by the Iranian government to present their plans as "the desire or expectations of the Iranian people."

[2] Evidently, a reference to the followers of Davoud Bin Ajab Shah, a sect with close ties to the Ismailites of Yemen.

[3] See note 1 above.

I think though that Mosque explosion was explained to be a munitions that exploded near or inside the Mosque as they had a display of some sort...so Baha'is were never seriously charged with that..

"Then officials said the munitions were apparently left behind after a "Sacred Defense" exhibition held at the mosque, which also serves as a cultural center.
"Sacred Defense" is a local reference to the Iran-Iraq war of the 1980s.
Local militia groups -- known as Basij -- often use the mosques for meeting places."

The article also alleges other things.

But it would be really a step in the right direction if the governemnt allowed "coexistence" to Baha'is to practise their religion..but that hasn't happened.

Sometimes the news reports are not very accurate either so one wonders...

Sadly, Baha'is are never going to get that kind of freedom under a true Islamic Republic. The clerics want as much power as they can get their hands on, and stifling Baha'i freedoms in Iran safeguards that power. They stifle us because they cannot logically discount our religion, especially if one of those mullahs were to read the Iqan.
