We have never been self sufficient. We have ways depended upon others for our survival, and we always will. We are social animals, and evolved to thrive in a group.

How does that address my post in any way? I never said we weren't social or designed for family groups...did I?
Self sufficiency means being able to sustain your own existence by your own means. Humans can do this quite capably.

Humans have never done so. Our existence is, has always been, and baring a major divergence in our evolutionary path always will depend on others. No one has ever done it all by themselves (and it's foolish and dumb to try).

The Jesus of the gospel of John sure was full of pride, saying he was god. So not like the synoptics. I like the Jesus of the synoptics, as do most people I think.

The synoptic gospels are the books of Matthew, Mark, and Luke. They're referred to as Synoptic because the writers stories are synonymous with one another.

Jesus was God. :) “Before Abraham, I amJohn 8:58 (New Testament)
Old Testament: God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I AM has sent me to you’” Exodus 3:14

    Edited to add this:

But he didn't think so, if you read the synoptics. He didn't want his miracles mentioned. John is pretty, but was the last written and most embellished.

Your claim about John is an unsubstantiated charge. I'd suggest you research before believing your own thoughts.

You're not aware of the Synoptic gospel verse in Matthew 1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
That's pretty clear Jesus was God.

Matthew 1:23 was about a "young woman," not a virgin, and it was taken from Isaiah, about Hezekiah, the son of Ahaz, not about Jesus. And it is about a future birth, not a past one. "A young woman WILL give birth..."
