Are You Serious Jen Psaki?

Seems that the White House press secretary is a little confused, either that or trying to make excuses for Biden's border plan.
From: Psaki grilled on why migrants aren't required to be vaccinated but foreign nationals who fly are

During the White House press briefing, Psaki was asked why those migrants crossing the U.S. southern border are not asked for proof of vaccination.
The question came after the White House on Monday announced that the United States will now require all foreign nationals to be vaccinated, and show proof of their vaccination status, in order to enter the country.

"As individuals come across the border, they are both assessed for whether they have any symptoms, if they have symptoms, the intention is for them to have to be quarantined," Psaki said, referring to migrants crossing into the U.S. "That is our process."

When pressed further, Psaki said the situations could not be compared.

"They are not intending to stay here for a lengthy period of time," she said. "I don’t think it’s the same thing. It is not the same thing."

When you say "migrants," do you mean people sneaking across between formal ports of entry? AFAIK, land crossings to Mexico are closed to non-essential travel just like the ones from Canada.

There is no solution to the surge of humans wanting to come into the U.S. to escape the horrors of their own countries. We cannot 'fix' their countries for them, and we cannot reasonably expect them not to try and save themselves and their families from the suffering that awaits them at home. So complaining that Biden or anyone else has not somehow magically 'fixed' the problem is just plain stupid. There is no 'fix'. If we let more in, more will come. If we let fewer in, more will parish in waiting, or in returning home. And these are humans beings, families, not our 'enemies'. We can't take them all in, and we can't fix their homeland for them. So we cannot solve this problem.

So let's stop whining about it and try to come up with some better ways of dealing with these people. Because it's not going away anytime soon.

And this is coming from the party that continually brags to others it uses science.

Of course the virus will not infect illegals ... err.. ahem.... migrants. It only works in citizens and Republicans.

It's peer reviewed you know.

I got a better way.

Acquiesce the offending countries and declare it US property. That way they won't have to leave home to come up here.

We will bring the US to them. Save them a trip.

Whaddaya say?

Bipartisan solution?

It's probably safe to say that none of the people arriving illegally across the border are "vaxxed". So if all of these arrivals who don't visibly "have symptoms" are allowed to gather in crowds before they are released into the country, how does Ms. Psaki know how many are asymptomatic but infectious, or are infected but haven't developed symptoms yet?

If American citizens and foreigners arriving legally in this country aren't treated as if they are presumptive covid-free just because they aren't actively showing symptoms, why are illegal entrants given that presumption?

It doesn't make sense. Politically favored groups (illegal aliens in this case) are again being awarded rights that are denied to citizens and to legal visitors.

When pressed further, Psaki said the situations could not be compared.

"They are not intending to stay here for a lengthy period of time," she said. "I don’t think it’s the same thing. It is not the same thing."

These migrants most definitely intend to stay in the US permanently. That's the whole idea. And most legal foreign visitors are here on tourist, student or temporary work visas and intend to return home in relatively short order.

But what does a foreign visitor's intended length of stay have to do with their covid infectiousness? Again it doesn't make any sense.

There's obviously a double standard at work here. Huge hypocrisy and naked bulls**t.

We can't even fix our own country, how are we going to fix anyone else's? Also, we have a terrible track record fixing other people's countries. Pretty much 100% failure rate. In fact, we're trying to extricate ourselves from our latest total failure at fixing a broken country right now.

(I realize you were being sarcastic.)

If you agree with what a person is saying, it doesn't take must for them to become an idol. Much harder to respect someone who disagrees with
your views. Psaki is not there for you. ;)

I think I may have figured out the Anti-Democracy Party (Trumpites) agenda. Make America less desirable than their own countries so they seek somewhere else to flee to. Who in their right mind would want to flee to a Fascist dictatorship country, or embrace the equivalent of Taliban rule under right-wing Evangelicalism?

To all of you that think Pasaki is telling the truth and nothing but the truth, how about answering just one little question concerning her reply quoted in this thread.
thIs is her statement "They are not intending to stay here for a lengthy period of time," she said. "I don’t think it’s the same thing. It is not the same thing."
Is she refering to those that are illegaly crossing our border, or those that enter here on a temporary visa?

If it are those that are crossing our border illegaly, when do you think they will leave?

If it are those that are hear on a temporty visa, why should they have to show a proof of vaccination if they are only going to be here for a short time whereas the illegals, if they are allowed to enter, who plan to work and live here do not have to.

Oh man, those illegal aliens have it so good! How do I become one so I can start living the easy life?
