Imagine, you never truly experienced the things you remember

They never really happened to you

Your conscious experience actually started only a couple of days ago

You are a sprit or demon, possessing someone, but you don’t know this, you think you are them as by possessing them you have access to the memories stored in their brain - and you have no prior memories of your own existence

You are a spirit or demon who has displaced the original occupant of your body

But you don’t know this; you think you are the person you’re occupying

Your memories and sense of self are therefore bogus

And the original occupant of the body you occupy is no longer in control of it but are under the delusion that they are – they have no idea you are in control!

They experience your thoughts as their thoughts, your deeds as their deeds

    Truly, they are possessed

Question: How can you know you are not a demon who is possessing someone?

    Being a demon sounds cool.
    I hope I am one.

Demons don't exist, therefor it's impossible to be a demon.

If demons were as powerful as God, it would possess an individual, but how can God create something that is more powerful than itself?

How can you know that you don't only think that because that's what the person whose body and mind you have possessed believed?

I don't see how an entity would have to be more powerful than God in order to be able to possess someone

In the bible there are multiple instances of demonic possession, such as that person who had their possessing spirits driven out by Jesus Christ into a herd of swine

If you have duties towards others you allow that person to take over your mind. That is dharma. That is how I maintain my family.

Like traditional Christianity, smells of polytheism.

The fact is God possesses every human being if one surrenders to God; so demons cannot possess that person because the demons would have to be more powerful than God in order to possess that individual who has surrendered to God.

But how can one know that one's surrender to God has been accepted by God himself?

God will make that clear to you in the incidents that occur in your life that would show that you are being protected by Him or are the beneficiary of inordinant good luck as serendipity.

But couldn't Satan (or some lesser entity) fool someone into thinking they are protected/possessed by God whereas they are actually being protected/possessed by him?

How could one know the difference and tell who's actually doing the protecting?

Edit: I don't personally believe in Satan

You will have to ask God: this can be done by a simple method that I use.

Asking God is one thing and I suppose that could be done by prayer, but how can he communicate back to people?

What's this simple method you use? (if you don't mind me asking)

The problem is the 'simple method' gets the answer people want from God(s) in many conflicting different beliefs.

You have to first ask yourself the question: do I want to be God-like or Demon-like, and if the answer is God-like, you have to exhibit that in the duties and righteous actions that you perform. This dharma is determined through the process of satya-advaita or truth accommodation, which ultimately seeks God's answers on whether you are on the right track.

For a start, I have no reason to think demons are anything but imaginary. No real demons, no real possession.

Problem still applies, and by far all believers of the diverse conflicting religions of the world pray or ask God to be God-like, and not Demon-like, and they claim to get the answer they want. In this line of thinking people can believe anything they want, and still receive God's grace upon request and 'know' God.

The logical answer from those that do not believe in God(s) or demons is that it is simply human desire to 'know' God, and not the reality of our existence nor the existence of God(s) nor demons.

I believe in God, but disagree that just desiring to 'know' God from the many diverse and conflicting beliefs and claims gets the results people claim, and of course they do not know,
