No. Our emotional lives are generally the same with some expressions being more typical for each sex.

@Meow Mix, what do you see as the difference between choices two and four? As I see it, they're essentially the same answer.

Every time I watch the movie Spartacus, I well up at the "I'm Spartacus" scene. Same with Casablanca, and the line "I guess the problems of two little people, don't amount to a hill of beans in this crazy world..."

I think the first film that induced tears was The Patriot (can't remember the scene) and then Ben Hur, where the women lose their leprosy, and subsequently it happens quite often, and can be induced perhaps by the emotions/tears of others, just like yawning so often does.

2 doesn’t see men as emotional at all, not enough to be called “emotional.”

4 does see men as being emotional, but differently.

Thank you for clarifying. I'll stick with 4 then.

I don't know that women are more emotional than men; I think we pretty much have the same emotions. I've observed people react differently, though, depending on whether it's a man or a woman expressing emotions.

Crying seems to be the big difference, as in "big boys don't cry," although other emotions might be okay to express.

Also, one often hears in the work or professional world that one should never let one's emotions cloud one's judgment. For example, a judge isn't supposed to judge a case based on their own personal feelings, but upon legal principles. It should always be "business, not personal."

Women are probably more outwardly emotional, but I'd say that men probably have as much turbulence within. I think that men are more angry and bitter in general, although women can become angry based on circumstances. The difference is that it is much less a of a continual anger.

If we're talking about guilt and self-loathing, that's probably women more than men, but only because of body image issues, fat shaming hurting women more than men (or so it seems, as women seem more likely to purge or cut themselves)

For fear and insecurity, hard to guess. Many men can't seem to own enough guns, but it's the neighborhood women that mostly freak out at seeing someone darker in the neighborhood. That may be an American phenomenon more that one applying to humanity in general.

Which gender experiences more anxiety? I'd be guessing again. I think women express more, but I'm not sure that stoic men are not feeling as much within. Who is more afraid of the black or brown man? I think men hate them more and women fear them more.

I don't know which gender is more vengeful. Judging by politics, it's men, but principally conservative ones.

So, I'm going to call it a draw. They are each equally emotional, but in different ways, and I can't address whether the degree to which that emotionality is more congenital or more acquired in either case, so I chose other.

It has to do with the freedom to express ones emotion. Many men consider it unmanly or a sign of weakness to exhibit their emotions in public, some even in private, when its just the opposite, its a strong man confident of what being a man entails that is free to express himself.

It has been shown that the women's armed forces are no more emotional than men. they are just as capable under fire.
However men often try to bottle up their emotions with devastating consequences for their mental health.
women are more likely to let it out.

I think it depends on the person. Some people don’t express emotions as much but have a lot of emotions inside.

I wanted both of these - biology and upbringing. It took me a while to understand that what caused me anger caused my wife to cry.

Humans are emotionally driven animals with a rational aspect constantly trying to apply some control. Both men and women are primarily emotional, it is just the expressions are culturally affected. Studies do show that women tend to be more empathetic which is thought to be biologically set for mother infant bonding. If you have any doubt that both are equally emotionally driven, just look at the current majority of the Republican party in the US. Their current response (both men and women) is emotional with rational thinking almost completely suppressed.
