What IS a vampire per this context? You should check out the book by William Schnoeblen, Interview with an Ex-Vampire, He claims it is a true story and used to be involved in the occult
In this book he describes himself as able to eat human food, but it makes him nauseous and he actually did drink blood. No special powers, but he said the sunlight was detrimental to his health, he went as far as to take a night job. Crosses, garlic, and other traditional "vampire repellants" did not affect him. He claimed that this "Vampirism" came from higher levels in The Church of Satan. What IS a vampire per this context?

I like the vamps of True Blood myself. Certainly better than sparkly vamps.I also think it is a very sad state of affairs that the poll mentions Twilight, but not Anne Rice, or Buffy.
(or the greatest creation of all the Vampire genre, "Forever Knight")
Ya, I would stay away from any Church with 'Satan' in its name. Weird how people get twisted? No, but he is no longer a Satanist, He is now a Christian. He still truly believes that The Church of Satan Made him a vampire.
