Jesus is the great King. His kingdom is not of this world. I really don't see the logic in what you're saying. In attempting to force the hand of Jesus into being? or the kingdom of god.
And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.
Alright of course according to Jesus there is a leaven of the pharisees and Sadducee. Anyone can have this leaven whether they call themselves an Evangelical or a Catholic. This is why Jesus said to beware the leaven. So it's more of an individual thing. Not Judases. Pharisees, maybe.
thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.Jesus is the great King. His kingdom is not of this world. I really don't see the logic in what you're saying.
When we pray this we pray for the kingdom of heaven to be on the earth. That is we pray for the reign of Christ within us. (Luke 17:21) Where the will of God is there the throne is and the law proceeds from the throne instead of intermediaries. Moses was a messenger of God. He was an intermediary but when the King comes to the throne then the Law proceeds directly from the throne. (Jeremiah 31:33-34)thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

When the throne of Christ is in someone's heart then the River of Life flows from the throne. (Revelation 22:1)
This is the new thing that God would do. (Isaiah 43:19)
God wants to make our desert a garden of Eden. (Isaiah 51:3)
The River of the Life, the holy Spirit is the Law of the new Covenant. (Isaiah 51:4)
How do we know we obey the Law? By bearing the fruit of the Spirit. (Galatians 5:22-23)
So that we may bear fruit of righteousness which is the tree of Life in the midst of our garden of Eden. (Proverbs 11:30)
Whoever eats from the tree of Life will live forever. (Genesis 3:22)
Whut?looks like you've found the smaragdine stone.
the kingdom of god has been established in its rightful place and not some other, i am that i am.
Revelation 2:17 [Full Chapter]
He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.
Ezekiel 11:19
And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh:
Ezekiel 36:26
A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
with love comes light
behold the river of life
Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.
the cherubim guards the way to the tree of life
Just look at today's Republican party!Evangelical leaders strike me as more like Pharisees than Judases. They'd be the first to attack Jesus if he ever came back --- especially as a woman, a Black, a liberal, or as "the least among us", to name just a few of the categories they despise.
As for the followers, I don't know. I suspect most of them would step in right behind their leaders -- not because they're as bad as their leaders, but because that's just human nature.
New Not Judases. Pharisees, maybe.
more like Pharisees
To quote Georg von Frundsberg
"Viel Feind', viel Ehr'!" / The more enemies, the more honour.
So thanks guys!
To quote an old Lakota saying, "Chose your enemies wisely, because you become like them."
I'll never allow myself to think of you as my enemy.
Are evangelicals attempting to force the hand of Jesus into being? or the kingdom of god.
And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.

And yet you call people you disagree with and think they are bad Pharisees.

Oh well.
Profoundly disagreeing with the views expressed by a group of people and/or their apparent failure to live up to the ideals of their professed creed, does not mean that a person deems those people to be "enemies".

Well, when you're talking to someone who thinks shooting civilian medics in crowd control situations is a good and necessary thing, I guess you have to expect a bit of false dichotomous "either with us or against us" thinking.Profoundly disagreeing with the views expressed by a group of people and/or their apparent failure to live up to the ideals of their professed creed, does not mean that a person deems those people to be "enemies".
And @Sunstone did not say that they were Pharisees, nor did he wholesale impugn historical Pharisaism as a movement. He simply drew a comparison between Jesus's sharp disagreement with Pharisees who failed to live up to their own ideals and some modern Evangelical leaders.
