Are Atheists Capable of Love

Theists, if God is love, then are not atheists, also gods?
Good grief!!!!
Have you ever actually spoken to an atheist?
You are asking a really dumb question.
Atheists don't believe in god, so if god = love in your world, atheists think, So what.

It's a complex question for one to ask.
My daughter died and I still love her,
as those I love that are alive.
Atheism has nothing to do with `love`.
The question was asked of theists,
regardless of their `love` or not,
but of their crass thinking of `love`.
The mirror is upside down and backwards here.
And there are some that write on these threads,
that I love in other ways,
well....atheists do love !

I know this thread is a leg pull but I'll give:

God isn't love.......

But Love is an aspect of God though (considering God transcends dualism), it's also something that sentient beings (humans) are capable of attaining and expressing but not in it's totality.

If god is love then "god" only exists as a human emotion.
You are making progress!

actually its an animal and vegetable emotion. self-preservation is a form of love.

animals and plants are capable of love. narcissism is only unhealthy when it doesn't consider other as self.

thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.

Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only?

Proverbs 10:12
Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins.

without belief in love there can be no fruit of positive action. without understanding there is turmoil.

with love comes light.

You seem to have defined love and 'god" both out
of existence.

But whatevs, you are just saying things.

If it were somehow proven that God doesn't exist, do you feel that your capacity to love would just fall apart or "break?" Probably not.

And you have to admit... as it stands, there is no way to prove or disprove God... which means you can't even tell if He is there or not. So you kind of just have to plug on as if He is... or isn't. See there? It MAKES NO DIFFERENCE. And yet you still love, right?

Why does something like this have to be so difficult for some people?

love is not he/she. love is all. love of self and other as self. this is what All in all means. love of this and all that too.

it is the golden rule. do unto others as you would have done unto you. LOVE

Stop with the mumbo jumbo please.

Can you just answer this question (if you are able without jumping up onto some weird soapbox of complete nonsense)?

If it were irrevocably proven that no gods exist do you honestly believe that you would lose the capacity to love?
