Do you expect this to happen in our time? Are all present day governments doomed?

Certainly, all governments are not doomed. We are too advanced for this to happen. Too interconnected.
Surely, some civilisations may fall. But even now with bails and aid, this is pretty much a failsafe against such things from happening.

In terms of the original post, it's all mythology as far as I'm concerned. It has as much validity as a talking rock. No evidence. No proof.

Christians have been saying this for TWO THOUSAND YEARS. People with a far greater grasp of theology than you have said the End is Nigh, and yet all of us are still very much here. Our planet continues to revolve around its mid-sized, nondescript star.

The Revelation has nothing to do with our day. Like Daniel, it is a book of apocalyptic hope that was written in the context of their times - and failed. As stated by others, there is nothing permanent. In the future, many of our governments might still exist in name only.

Perhaps this is true for a couple of civilisations. But every government? I think not.

What makes you so sure of this?
Energy is forever. Pi is forever. A circle's endpoint is never found.
Sure, these are mostly metaphysical examples; but why would you ever think that humans will go extinct?

I don't think the human species is in danger of extinction. Plenty of Tribes still living in the remote parts of the planet to carry on the species should an apocalypse wipe the rest of us out.

Eh, the age of information hasn't been going that long, don't speak too soon... The whole Ukraine-Russia issue earlier this year, did that not seem to you a volatile situation which could have quickly spilled out of control? Despite all of our fancy communications and international organisations, human beings are still a greedy bunch and war will continue. Ukraine is going to apply for NATO membership. All it takes is for Russia to invade a NATO country (or the other way around), and bam there ya go, large-scale warfare.

Revelation 19:11-21 prophecies that the Kings of the earth would be destroyed by heavenly armies under Christ's command.
Do you expect this to happen in our time? Are all present day governments doomed?

I believe that we are now experiencing the End Time Tribulation.

It has been happening at a rate that lets people believe it is just natural.

Jesus told me thirty-six years ago that a time was coming soon when man would suffer more than he has ever suffered. I was to give a word and leave, and out of that word a community would grow. Jesus said he wanted a place of safety for his people.

Because it's an inevitability that death comes to us all, that very few species do not eventually evolve into new ones, at this rate we'll destroy ourselves before natural extinction can occur, and because nothing is forever. ruled by God thru Jesus and 144,000 people that will serve to adminstrate

I can't say this premise is true, it seems true by virtue of scripture.
I'm still seaching and seeking answers to my questions.
It's a fine notion that one day the earth and it's inahbitants wil live in a world w/o
crime, corruption, greed, violence, death etc. and be a paradise that was promised
in Genesis.

Ya know that is a great and completely logical question.
Answer? I don't know but here's my thinking.
The earth was apparently created for mankind. God said to the original couple.
"be fruitful and multiply, subdue the earth and make of it a garden of paradise", or some words close to that.
It seems to be that God's request was never fulfilled. I feel the earth "will abide forever" and we are supposed to survive this wicked system of things to live here on the earth and make the paradise it was supposed to be.
I reject the notion that heaven is for "good Christians to worship god all day long".
