AOC has COVID

I wish her a quick and smooth recovery. I also hope she and everyone else observe medical advice so as to minimize their chances of getting infected or infecting anyone else.

This is just another example that people should take their medical advice from experts and professional organizations, not from politicians or celebrities. The latter are often not any more medically qualified than the next layperson.

It appears that it make no difference if you are vaccinated and bosted or not the new strain of Covid could care less.
It also behoves one to wear a proper mask if you are in a confined area with other people.
The above goes for Covid and the flu.

Stupid. Stupid. Stupid. Personally stupid and politically stupid. She should know better than to have partied maskless. I expect more of those on the left. It's called "walking the talk".

NY Rep. Ocasio-Cortez recovering after positive COVID test
The article doesn't say anything about her supposedly partying.

BTW, it appears that I now have omicron even though I've been triple vaccinated and didn't party recently. I think I got it at a funeral I attended last Monday even though I was masked the vast majority of the time. Mostly just aches and tiredness.

BTW, what makes you believe she's "stupid"? I would propose that her constituents probably know her better than you do, so maybe "stupid" is misplaced?

And doing so in a hotspot (Miami) with many unmasked
people in close contract in a hotspot state (Florida).

When outdoors around people, I keep my distance,
I avoid crowds, & I try to stay upwind. No hugging.
No canoodling. No letting down my guard.
Of course, at my age, my risk is much higher than hers.

Let's hope that her example inspires more caution
in other people. (Lots'a hope....little expectation.)

Doesn't mean it didn't happen.
There are many sources with pix of her unmasked
hugging of an unmasked person, & mingling in an
unmasked crowd.

Perhaps it was all fake news....like the moon landing, eh.

It still matters. Ever heard of something called "odds", aka
"probability"? In life, good choices don't guarantee perfect
results. But they boost our chances of faring well.

If more people listened to relevant experts about the pandemic instead of their favorite politicians or football players, news like this wouldn't carry nearly as much weight or generate as much controversy as it does now.

The virus doesn't care who is a Democrat, Republican, or independent. Anyone who flouts medical precautions puts themselves and others at risk.

It makes lots of difference, you have a 90% greater chance of having serious effects and being hospitalised if you are not vaccinated.

She's stupid.
Nah, as we've seen over and over again, I do believe it's the other way around. :p I disagree with her at times, but I would call her "stupid", thus I believe you shoot yourself on the foot by making such childish assertion. However, I do admit that "stupid" is more than just four letters, so maybe there's hope for you yet.

Wrong. The infection rate and severity is quite quite different.

I believe that 90% was for delta. I think the % of it being severe with Omicron is lower. But haven't seen any numbers yet. .

Nah. You're just having another AOCDS fit.

Besides, intelligence never mattered to you in the past. What happened?
You wouldn't recognize intelligence of if it bit you in the face.

Apparently this is your intelligent congresswoman....

  • After proclaiming she was of Jewish heritage and was “down with the Jews”, an interviewer asked her what she thought about the occupation of Palestine. She replied, “and what is Palestine?”.
  • Asked about whether she’d support Nancy Pelosi for Speaker of the House (which she eventually did, after a short-lived revolt), she replied “Of course, well, I think absolutely right now, you know she is … she is the leader of … no no, um, she is speaker — or rather leader Pelosi — hopefully we’ll see, she’s ah, she’s the current leader of the party and I think that the party absolutely does have its leadership in the House and Senate as well,”
  • “We need to invent technology that’s never even been invented yet.” from a 12/3/2018, WNYC Radio interview
  • AOC was asked by MSNBC host Chris Hayes about what her plan is to “fix” the broken government. AOC said “Well, I think a lot of it has to do with changing our strategy around governance. You know, there’s a lot of inside baseball, inside the beltway, as you always hear that term thrown around. But … there are very few organizers in Congress. And I do think that organizers operate differently. It’s a different kind of strategy. And what it is … is really about organizing … and, and really thinking about that word. Organizing. Segmenting people. Being strategic in their actions. In really bringing together a cohesive strategy of putting pressure on the chamber, instead of only focusing on the pressures inside the chamber.”
  • To quote Alan Moore: “None of you understand. I’m not locked up in here with YOU. You’re locked up in here with ME.”
  • “Let me try and save folks some time here. You cannot rein in Latinas. They rein you in.”
  • “There is no such thing as talking about class without there being implications of the racial history of the United States. You just can’t do it.”
  • “Capitalism has not always existed in the world and will not always exist in the world.”
  • “We have built power. We have organized. What we have built is permanent. No. Matter. What.”
  • “I have three months without a salary before I’m a member of Congress. So, how do I get an apartment? Those little things are very real.” (She was spending over $70,000 per year for her college years, but now she’s come down with the “Hillary Clinton and Michelle Obama” disease… It’s called ‘WeAreBroke‘… of which the only cure is to become a politician, where you’ll make 10’s of millions)
  • “I wake up every day, and I’m a Puerto Rican girl from the Bronx. Every single day.” (She grew up and lived most of her life in the upscale Yorktown Heights area of Westchester, NY, NOT the Bronx)
  • “For me, democratic socialism is about – really, the value for me is that I believe that in a modern, moral and wealthy society, no person in America should be too poor to live.”
  • “Women like me aren’t supposed to run for office – I wasn’t born to a wealthy or powerful family. But we have to ask ourselves who has New York been changing for?” (She grew up in a $1.2 million home. In my book that is wealthy)
  • “New York has one of the most oppressive political machine in the United States.”
  • “In my opinion, if women and gender-expanding people want to run for office we can’t knock on anybody’s doors, we have to build our own house.”
  • “I just want to let you all know how proud I am of each and every single one of you. For putting yourselves and your bodies and everything on the line to make sure we save our planet.”
  • “If they want to make an example out of me, I will gladly be one. Hopefully we can be an example of dedication, courage, and persistence under fire. I also hope to be an example of not tolerating nonsense.”
  • “The resources are not as scarce as people like to make us believe.”
  • “Solving an unprecedented crisis will require unprecedented ambition.” (Ambition is the desire to achieve. Solving a crisis require solutions, not ambition Alexandria)
  • “When we talk about the word ‘socialism,’ I think what it really means is just democratic participation in our economic dignity and our economic, social, and racial dignity. It is about direct representation and people actually having power and stake over their economic and social wellness, at the end of the day.”
  • “I was born in a place where you zipcode determines your destiny.”
  • “No bans. No walls. No fences. No chains. No justice – no peace.”
  • “The Plan for a Green New Deal shall recognize that a national, industrial, economic mobilization of this scope and scale is a historic opportunity to virtually eliminate poverty in the United States and to make prosperity, wealth and economic security available to everyone participating in the transformation.”
  • “Healthcare as a human right, it means that every child, no matter where you are born, should have access to a college or trade-school education if they so choose it, and I think no person should be homeless if we can have public structures and public policy to allow for people to have homes and food and lead a dignified life in the United States.” (This was one of many of her calls for open borders and promising free health care to anyone that can make it to the US)
  • “Everyday immigrants commit crimes at a far lower rate than native-born Americans and not only that but the women and children on the border that are trying to seek refuge and seek opportunity in the United States of America with nothing but the shirt on their backs are acting more American than any person who seeks to keep them out ever will be.” (More lies as immigrants commit crimes at a far higher rate than most demographic groups in America and all the immigrants are not women and children as she intimates)
  • “In the wealthiest nation in the world, working families shouldn’t have to struggle. It’s time for a New York that’s good for the many. I am an educator, organizer, Democratic Socialist, and born-and-raised New Yorker running to champion working families in Congress. It is well past time that we in NY-14 had a true, lobbyist-free representative who lives in our community and fights on behalf of Bronx + Queens families. This movement for Congress is about education and healthcare; it’s about housing, jobs, justice, and civil rights. It’s is about preparing for the future of our environment, energy, and infrastructure. It’s about championing the dignity of our neighbors. And it’s about getting money out of politics.” (We’ll watch her and see how her income “grows” with her alliances with lobbyists and the political machine she says she abhors.)
