Why would you assume guns can be controlled by laws, when it's not working on drugs? Especially now that guns can be made at home.
Because drugs are very different from guns. There are countries that put controls on both. They were only successful with guns. That is why it is foolish to compare the two.

That is not exactly a reliable source. They do not show how they arrived at that claim. They only made the same claim that you did. That is not supporting a claim.

Meanwhile the one example they gave was ludicrous:

One recent example of armed civilians stopping a mass shooting was in February, when an armed robber drew his weapon at a gun range. After killing two people, armed civilians spring into action and killed him before he had a chance to kill others.

Wow! An idiot tried to hold up a bunch of armed people and after shooting a couple he was killed himself. Not exactly the best example.

That's the definition of a mass shooting. If he'd killed two more it would qualify.

Whoosh!! Another point going over your head. There was no denial about his intent to be a mass shooter. He qualifies even if he shot and killed only two because his intent was clear. That was not why that example was very poor.

We had over 45,000 gun deaths in 2021-- do the math.
His figure was over a ten or fifteen year period. But to be fair your figure included all shootings. There were "only" 692 mass shootings that year. Since his figure was from I am fairly sure 15 years, but may have been from only ten we need to divide his by at least ten and we get about 6'at best. Or 1% of mass shootings being stopped by citizens. And that is by using numbers from a dubious source.

EDIT: It was an eleven year period so closer to ten than to fifteen. Still since I used ten for my calculation it still erred in his favor.

Yes, and my point is that if the proliferation of guns is supposedly making us safer, then why are the figures much, much lower? Common sense has it that the more guns, the greater likelihood things could go "south". We have an estimated 410,000,000 guns in American society for roughly 340,000,000 people, and then we wonder there are so many homicides and accidental killings?

It's like them saying "If we have more cars, we will have fewer accidents".
