Hope you are all well.

I found a book called "After Buddhism" while wandering round the library ...

You can get some idea of his thoughts at this site -

This deep agnosticism is more than the refusal of conventional agnosticism to take a stand on whether God exists or whether the mind survives bodily death. It is the willingness to embrace the fundamental bewilderment of a finite, fallible creature as the basis for leading a life that no longer clings to the superficial consolations of certainty.

It's been a while since I read them but yes I have read these:

Verses from the Centre.

*Confession of a Buddhist Atheist.

Living with the Devil: A Meditation on Good and Evil.

*Buddhism Without Beliefs.

*Alone with Others: An Existential Approach to Buddhism.

He is a very lucid writer and I would particularly recommend those with an asterisk.

I like Stephen's writings. It's a modern re-expression of the Buddhist suttas, relevant to the modern age. Accessible, but not necessarily authentic.
