Yes, I am at heart a Quaker in the Liberal Tradition, though I meet with an Evangelical Meeting in the most liberal of the Evangelical Yearly Meetings. I have connections to liberal Meetings and hope to start a preparatory Meeting in my home when I get it into some kind of decent shape.

I am a Roman Catholic, however nearly every time I do the beliefnet religion quiz, I get Orthodox Quaker as my top, second or third answer. Does that qualify in any way? :D

There must be something in that!

I have had many experience with Friends. First in the UU church, with it actually.
We used to visit each other often and do service projects together.

I've also sought out Meetings while traveling and was lucky enough to live near one on the SE side of Portland, Oregon during December '11.
I took in a Christmas service.

But what I really enjoyed was the bi-weekly 7 am Lecto Divina....
They themselves said it was a bit adapted :D
It was dark that time of year and it was awesome to come into the hall at 7 in the dark,
and leave at 8:30, all the while light starting to come through the windows.

Nice metaphor me thinks :D

Beliefnet wise:

I get UU or Mahayana Buddhist at the top.
followed by Liberal Quaker or Pagan or Taoist.

The last three switch around, but the first two always there 1 and 2.

Where do I usually go to Church you ask?

At a place down the street, which I can walk to... The Anglican Church of Canada, which is Anglo-Catholic.
Talk about as far from programmed as you can get :D
But I don't know what to say. I like ALL or NONE I guess, LOL!!!
Something is oddly enriching about each of them.

It's the evangelical middle ground in Christianity that never has done much for me.

What works in the ACC is that there is a contemplative element, accepted and encouraged.
My current Rector is quite into that and dishes it out in his worship style and sermon.

I started going to ACCs because I have always been able to walk to one from where I lived.

Sadly the Friends and UU Meetings are a bit of a drive out of town, but I visit. :D

Does the devil lift Jesus up?
Im a Friends Quaker at heart. (Attended and Member for 16 years) I found that Evangelical Free Churches are very similar...

Hi,

Just adding to this thread to note that I'm a Quaker, attending a meeting within Britain Yearly Meeting. Our Meeting For Worship in Britain Yearly Meeting is unprogrammed.

There is silence of course but in my meeting, there is always plenty of inspiring and profound ministry from members and attenders each week.

It's my spiritual home and nourishes me for the week ahead. :)
