Any fans of Wil Wheaton, a.k.a. Wesley Crusher?

I thought he was great! I guess I have a heart for nerds.

The problem with Wesley as a character was that he either (1) did something massively stupid that caused the problem the rest of the crew had to solve that week, or (2) he’d come up with the solution to that week’s problem during the last five minutes of the episode after the adults couldn’t figure it out.

 

Even more lucky if you know the story. I was flying out early morning and booked a room at an airport hotel. The hotel was hosting a Star Trek convention.

Going down for breakfast i got into the lift with one of my favourite actors (Patric Stewart) along with David Prowse (of darth Vader fame) and Arthur C Clarke. When they invited me to join them at their table for breakfast, what is a girl to do?

Arthur C Clarke and David Prowse happened to be in London and asked if they could be special guests at the convention.

At other tables were Brent Spiner, Johnathan Frakes, Gates McFadden, LaVar Burton, Marina Sirtis, plus loads of off screen techs, writers, directors.

I had a plane to catch so only spent about half an hour with them. I could have listened to them all day.

 

That's a once in a lifetime experience.
