According to the Bible, when will the Antichrist appear? Is there any way to know?

Have you read the book of Revelation? It is a little confusing to seperate things that are supposed to be taken figuritively and literally. Revelation, chapter 13 talks about a beast that decieves the nations and rules it or something like that. As for the timing....After the first seven seals are broken, whenever that is supposed to happen. I only know this because I read the "Left Behind" series. Those books taught be more about the Christian religion then going to church ever did.

An Anti-Christ is anyone who does not believe in Christ.

edit: On topic, the beast(which I believe is what you are reffering to) will appear when it appears, the Bible does not give a time, and we will only know when it happens.

It is also said that He will roam the earth for 42 months, apparently.
I also bleieve He is here on earth, just not physically.

It is like the Omen movie, but more broadened.

John 2:22 - Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.

I don't agree with this philosophy. It basically says that ALL people that do not believe in God are liars.

Must be a damn lot of liars on this earth then.

    Just to be clear:
    1 John 2:22

.... you've gotta read the verse in context:

    1 John 2:
19They went out from us, but they did not really belong to us. For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us; but their going showed that none of them belonged to us.

This is about followers of Christ who then turn and attack the teachings or followers of Christ. That verse is not about all who don't believe in Christ being liars.... only those followers who professed to believe and did lie about it ... proven by their leaving the church.

    Peace,
    Scott

I've always looked at the anti-Christ as someone who acts in opposition to the way Jesus did. If that's true, then some Christians I know are Antichrists....

By its purest definition "Anti-Christ" is represented in the "beast" as well as "the false prophet" or in both as they both falsely claim to represent the truth of Christianity.

Accorxding to Revelation 19:20; "the false prophet" or those falsely representing Christianity ie the false prophet worked miracles on behalf of the beast; making the false prophet and the beast of the same ilk.
It is therefore no coincidence that both the false prophet and the beast met the same fate..."These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone."Revelation 19:20

It is also no coincidence that the same "beast" carries the "woman"[church] "drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus." Revelation 17:6

It must therefore stand to reason that the wanton killing of Christians by any [church related body] whether Roman Catholic in nature or Protestant in nature; making this [Christian religious body] qualify as the MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH." Revelation 17:5

History records that the only [church related body] orchestrating the wanton killing of Christians that disagreed with their view of Christianity, was the Roman Catholic church. This Christian group spawned a child, Protestantism, that in turn killed Roman Catholic Christians in reprisals for the Roman Catholic inspired killing of their own. But whether the killings were Roman Catholic inspired or Protestant inspired would make no difference and would still place both Roman Catholicism and Protestantism as the "beast"[Roman Catholics] who with the false prophet[Protestantism] as of the same ilk; both being guilty of murdering the saints of God and or murdering those who followed truth whether as Roman Catholics, or as Protestants or as saints of other beliefs--those other beliefs not being Roman Catholic based or Protestant in nature.

It is also no coincidence that both the devil and his angels together with the "fearful and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, [Rev.21:8]and all liars, were also consumed in the said lake of fire that consumed the "beast" and the "false prophet".

My understanding is that the Anti-Christ is (will be) a pseudo-Christ. People will think that he/she is the actual Christ.

I remember reading about Nostradamus' prophecies of the Ant-Christ describing him/her :

"Out of the country of Greater Arabia
Shall be born a strong master of Mohammed...
He will enter Europe wearing a blue turban.
He will be the terror of mankind.
    Never more horror. "

I think we should watch his prophecies closely because they just might be true (who knows?).

Wake up its Paul/Saul he fufills all prophecy concerning the anti-christ

He went against the prophets of the old testament
    He was a pharisee
    He didn't like women
He didn't like the desire of women
He contridicts Christ and killed his followers
He killed the faithful martyr stephen
He was a fake jew who was at the church spoke of
He was the fake apostle who went to the church spoke of
The disciples both Mark and Peter didn't get on with him
He wanted to sit as God
His wording is that of a goat, always sayin I dont lie and but
He and his followers destroyed what Christ came to do, by re-establsihing Christ and God, as being (pharisee) church, in rome. Then Roman Christians destoryed the temple in Jerusalem and the followers of the disciples. So fufilling the prophecy that he will destroy the temple.
He establsihed hierachy in church which has resulted in babylon being wide spread
Any other prophecys I am missing??
By the way I should point out, I fufilled the angel with the small scroll in revelations, before I ever read the new testament, and my name is in many religions as fore told.
Zanda means to bring in the harvest and open the strong door in ancient hebrew
So instead of looking round and judging as Paul told you todo, rather look with in the bible and learn what it menas to be a true follower of God and Christ

Babylon the Great, Mother of the Harlot is the "world empire of false religion". The harlot is riding on the back of the wild beast. The wild beast represents the political elements of the world that religion has been having an illicit affair with for centuries. False religion has had its hands in world's affairs for centuries and has condoned the slaughter of many innocent people to enhance its own power & riches. Religion has not represented Jehovah. Religion even went so far as to proclaim the UN as the representative of God's Kingdom on earth. That is why Jehovah will cause the wild beast (UN & ruling authorities) to turn on the harlot, to eat her up and make her naked--to expose and destroy her. Thereafter Jehovah will turn his attention to the rulers of this earth who have also ruled with a greedy hand, and will do the same to them--destruction.

My general belief, However I just found out that in fact the bible literally states that One man will portray himself as God, I believed that people were anti-christs, these people being they who have contradicted and fallen away from christ's true teachings.

My other belief is, in referance to those who are expecting a physical appearance of Jesus, is that He will return by other means. But it will fullfil the scriptures, when Jesus himself said that he will be as a theif in the night. He will return in a way you are totally unaware of.

I would say the Anti-Christ will not show themselves until there work is almost done. Like, you might notice that they were rising in ranks until they basically controlled the world. Then there has to be Armageddon. The Final Battle. So basically, i think we will find out whenever someone starts to own the world.

I agree that Paul/Saul was AN antichrist. There have been many throughout time. Another antichrist was the Sumerian that built the golden calf and misled the people in the time of Moses(I know the Bible says that the prophet Aaron built the calf, but this modification of the Bible has been corrected in the Quran). There have been antichrists for each of the prophets, they come on the scene typically after the prophet leaves and mislead the people from the message that has just been taught by the prophets. The antichrist that people think of in the end of the world as we know it sense is Mulla Umar.
If anyone wants to read about Paul: http://www.taliyah.org/articles/paul.shtml
It is a good paper on his contradictions with the teachings of other prophets and Jesus.
