Amazing, protestors in Hong Kong hold the U.S. flag while singing the U.S. national anthem as the take a stand against communism and embrace freedom! This isn't being covered by the mainstream media.

Hong Kong protesters wave American flag, sing national anthem

Nobody knows the nationality of the protesters holding the flags. Could be U.S. citizens? Could be plants by the Chinese government to help provide and excuse for heavy-handed intervention? Lots of questions.

The protest is over the 2019 Hong Kong extradition bill - Wikipedia which allows China to extradite people from Hong Kong. Looks like Hong Kong has been used as something akin to a sanctuary city in the U.S.

Duh.

The citizens of Hong Kong have always be tried in Hong Kong with the laws of Hong Kong. Now that Hong Kong is again part of China, the government of China wants to be able to try people anywhere in China, including "the mainland". It is not at all like sanctuary cities. Sanctuary cities do not prohibit legal extradition.

It is like a sanctuary city in that people go there to not be tried by China itself. Just like people flee to sanctuary cities to not be deported. They definitely share similarities. I think its encouraging. Perhaps these few rebels will be what leads to the democracy for the nation.

And Donald J Trump took a courageous stand, letting the Communists know that he and the USA stood behind the valiant protesters! Because he believes in Truth, Justice, and the American Way.

Right? He did, didn't he?
Tom

He hasn't really commented yet. WH staff and cabinet members have.
