This is not something I knew about, but I'm not surprised. We might even see a federal shutdown happen and then it will go further.

Democrats step up hardball tactics as Supreme Court fight heats up

Senate Democrats are limiting the ability to hold committee hearings in retaliation for Republicans' decision to try to fill a Supreme Court seat in the middle of an election year, the first action in what is likely to be an increasingly combative battle over procedure in the Senate.

A Democratic aide confirmed that Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) had invoked the so-called two hour rule, which can be used to limit the ability to hold committee hearings after the Senate has been in session for more than two hours.
...
“Because the Senate Republicans have no respect for the institution, we won’t have business as usual here in the Senate,”

I would like to believe otherwise but...

Told you so....Dems have their own tricks at the ready.
Although Trump already quashed the usual sexual
accusations by planning on a female nominee.
Everyone plays to win.

Yeah, not surprising. Politics is exhausting (and I am just spectating).

It's exhausting if you care too much about one side.
Stand back.
Watch it all unfold with more detachment.
And focus upon the fine weather we're having.

Quite the challenge, it feels like the consequences are real.

Agreed. One only needs to care.
Just don't over-do it.
Or you'll wind up like that guy on RF....you know....always angry,
insulting, hostile, & bleary eyed from being up all night correcting
all those people on the internet who are wrong.

But they ARE wrong. :D (kidding, kidding)

I used to be that guy, he still tries to come out sometimes. It isn't fun.

He needs to be b**ch slapped.
It's crazy how sneaky it is. You don't realize how integrated you are with a political party/team until they come under critique. Then it feels like it is a reflection on you. The human mind is an amazing thing sometimes...
