I thought it clever etymological joke rather than wrong.
    Oh, well.

Nobody ends a prayer with "awomen". Amen isn't a gender word. By that logic menstruation should instead be called womenstruation.

'"Amen and A-woman" is a long-lived Southern/black preacher signature. Rep. Cleaver meant it as a kind of witticism. He doesn't think AMEN actually has the word MEN in it; he wasn't being hyper-anything.'

Next step might be to replace "son" with "daughter"

You're all aware that the "awomen" comment was a political joke after the House adopted a resolution on the use of non-gendered term in its debates and in its official written communication? Please tell me that you are all aware this was a form of sarcasm because I doubt the OP is aware of that nor is Ben Shapiro.

    Replace both with offspring.
    "Reason" becomes "reaoffspring".
The whole subatomic particle zoo must be renamed, eg, boson, meson.

    Really?
    Based on what, exactly?
I sincerely hope you are not making that bold empty claim based upon the video in the OP.

    What "Absolute Truth©"?

So I take it you believe that the word 'amen' means 'a man' ????
I won't be so hard as to mock you, but please explain your thinking.

A lot of our male politicians worship women (Monica with Clinton....Jennifer Fitzgerald with Bush....any female with steroid dazed Schwarzenegger). I just never thought they'd say awomen. However, it is politically correct.

Similarly, the Easter bunny is politically incorrect (has sex too much). Perhaps Oyster bunny?

We stereotype Santa as a White man who slides down your chimney while your kids sleep. Why not Black? Reindeer? Why not flying pigs (might offend some religions)?

Sewer entries (manholes) shouldn't be only for men....should have womanholes.

Shakespeare said "a rose, by any other name, would smell as sweet." Perhaps names are only for identifying items. Yet, if names are ingrained in our minds, we might start thinking incorrectly.

The Georgia flag was almost banned in Georgia (symbol of the Conferacy...hence, symbol of slavery). I think that the offended party should have a greater voice.

    Unbe******g believable.

The comment were funny , here's a couple

“Is it just me or is it getting crazier out there” - Joker

Little did you know, "Awomen" actually originates from Hebrew's sister language, Shebrew.

No, because I’m not an idiot,
Apparently as someone pointed out in this very thread, it’s just a joke. Getting upset about this means you literally have no life. It’s just more pointless outrage for the outrage culture.
    Truly pathetic imo

Wait a minute (bearing in mind, I am not American) do you mean that thing about
amen and awoman didn't actually happen?

Lots of so-called 'progressive' things start out as jokes, kind of like testing the waters

I’m not American either. Full discretion Earlier in the thread it was pointed out that this is apparently an old signature of the south stemming back years upon years. Another poster pointed out that it was just likely a joke based on the recent decisions of government not to use gendered language anymore. This is such a non story even an antisocial freak like me wanted to tell these people to get out more. Like desperate to be angry much?
