I don't know about other devices but this one pauses whatever is happening when a new screen is opened so can't play anything in the background.

No prob. It kept pausing when i went off the site, but no issues when using the app.
I've never heard of SoundCloud before, I'll play with it a bit in browsers then i may put the app on my phone if i like it.
