Am I the only Conservative in this forum?

I'm a strong fiscal conservative, but I'm not so on some social issues. I.E., I support replacing the income tax with a national sales tax and privatizing social security, but I support same sex marriage but do not support making aboriton illegal.

I guess I'm more Libertarian than Conservative, but I consider Liberal to be a dirty word as Most American liberals strike me a closet socialists.

...A lot of liberals have an elitist attitude and I really can't deal with it. They think they're the smartest thing to set foot on earth since Einstein....
Based on my experiences, sadly, I have to agree with this statement. I don't have a problem with bluntness, and I agree that challenging deeply held beliefs is a good thing, but when I have observed that many liberals take it personally when I challenge THEIR deeply held beliefs. This double standard represents the worst of liberal arrogance.:sorry1: I realize it isn't all liberals, but it does seem to be the most vocal ones, but it is for this reason that while I'm not a solid Conservative, I will never consider myself a liberal.

The closest I could come to naming my political philosophy is a classical liberal but it doesn't work in all areas...
