John 10:8 Jesus is clearly speaking of those called "gods" or "goddesses" that came before He came. They are thieves and robbers because they want to steal the flock.

Jesus shows their demonic origin when He says that they come naught but to "Kill, steal and destroy". So it's clear that according to Jesus; idolatry is from satan designed to destroy humanity.

This is an ancient superstitious world view that still plagues humanity, and divides humanity in a tribal view of us versus them who are evil.

But wouldn't other "flocks'" gods also feel that converts to Jesus were being stolen from them? Who ends up being "right?"

And are you seriously trying to imply that all other religions besides the Abrahamic ones are "from satan?" How could you possibly know this? Because "The Bible" told you so?

Ah yes, "superstition" that's what they want you to think.

I didn't imply anyone is evil except Satan and his demons. Although we could discuss how people are evil. But that would be for everyone on earth and that's another topic.

The thing plaguing humanity is Satan. I view humans as victims. However, there are those who do satan's bidding. They'll be exposed.

Tribalism is good anyway. A tribe takes care of it's own. It's like a big family. The thing hurting the world is nation states and now globalism. I would probably support the return to tribalistic societies if we had that opportunity. Unfortunately we don't. But, I don't really like nation states and definitely not global governance.
Well yeah, the lion thought the shepherd was a thief when the shepherd snatched the lamb out of his jaws.

Who ends up being right? Well, which ever one made the universe makes the rules. Hypothetically, wouldn't you agree?

Regardless of whether you include anyone else the reference to Satan and demons are grounded in ancient superstition, and no humans cannot reasonably blame a mythical Satan and demons for the plight they are responsible for themselves.

The reality in today's world tribalism translates to war, suffering, persecution, ethnic cleansing, and worse.

Demonic manifestations are now constantly reported world wide. The internet has made it easy for people to report such occurrences. The existence of evil spirits can no longer be denied by reasonable observers. The only real debate is what the heck is actually going on. But, I think it's obvious. The ancient texts are true. Ancients had the right perspective after all. Demons are real.

Yes, the modern world is a very messed up place. Tribalism could have been done better.

Not necessarily, no. Because when we humans say "right" we usually tend to be talking in terms of our own well-being. No "god" would necessarily have our best interests in mind with all actions taken. If you accept The Bible as evidence (which I do not, but assume that you probably do), then there is even evidence that Jehovah/Yahweh does not always have human's best-interests in mind, regarding the flood story. God's own mistake was apparently great enough that he no longer cared about any of the humans already living, or even just born. Nor did he seem to care about the lives of any of the billions of other creatures that didn't make it onto the ark. And so even in the stories, God doesn't necessarily care about the well-being of humans.

Think of it this way - were God to enact a global flood today, and you received news (via a Twitter post, let's say) that He chose some small family far, far from you to warn to build a huge vessel to save the remnants of humanity, and as you watch all those you love drown around you before you also succumb to the rising waters, would your final thoughts be something along the lines of "Well... God obviously knows what He is doing, and so this is all "right."?
