דניאל יוסף בן מאיר הירש
In Judaism there is a famous part of the Ritual called "Aleinu". it is pronouced "Ah-lay-noo".
It means "it is incumbent on us." There is an old story buried among the spiritual/mystical tradition of my people that explains that the words in this Aleinu prayer were composed by Joshua from the Bible. And these words were chanted by the Jewish people at Jericho and it was the words in combination with divine providence which effected the walls coming down.
Virtually all Jewish people know the Aleinu. Because it is a fixture in all prayer services. It is even included if there is not a Jewish Quorum ( aka minyan ) present.
Because of this, I have been indoctrinated ( in the best possible way ) to accept the yoke of heaven on my shoulders. It is incumbent on me, to work cooperatively with the Creator of ALL the All-mighty God to effect change and knock those walls down.
I am looking for arguments in favor and opposed to this point of view.
I will read the replies but not reply myself.
