Some clearly are reptilians, but they are terrestrial in origin and opponents of the hostile extraterrestrials.

I'm guessing this has been said but if alec Baldwin were an actual gun owner he'd have known better than to point a gun at someone and pull the trigger.

That reminds me of Sigourney Weaver...anti-gun IRL,
    but very pro-gun in movies.

Aye, those of us who take guns very seriously wouldn't
handle guns in so cavalier a manner. Even if I were in
a movie (no risk of that), I would verify for myself that a
gun is unloaded....don't ever trust anyone else for that.
And then, one doesn't point it at others...even with the
    action open.
Anti-gunners typically don't have that kind of training.
So they don't have good habits & that healthy sense
of paranoia that guns are very dangerous.

That movie set sounds like a real **** show. I propose
that armorers on movie sets be licensed for that special
profession, with very thorough training & strict handling
protocols for all weapons & ammunition.

To be fair, though, since it was a prop gun and he was rehearsing, wasn't he supposed to? (I actually haven't been following the story.)

Because they like to make money off the guns they claim to hate and don't know how to use ..

A prop gun by definition can't fire. It was a real gun that was supposed to be shooting blanks.

Actually most do. We literally have 900000 hunters in my state. And yet accidental hunting deaths by firearms are usually about 1 per year.

Is it, really, for you? You don't seem to be particularly shaken, given that your first reaction was to create a thread where you gleefully mock the participant in said tragic accident (and, implicitly, the victim) for your own ghoulish gratification.

    Lack of accuracy.
Most of my target rifles were 22LR.
They'd be deadlier used as clubs than to shoot anyone.
So no...they weren't designed to kill anyone or anything.

You are mistaken. A 22LR is very deadly. It will penetrate a human being deeply enough to kill if pointed at almost any vital organ.

Please note. That is not a rifle which would extract a lot more energy out of the powder. It is a rather cheesy handgun.

"Cheap, bawdy and low brow"...of course that's what makes him interesting.
Read out a sonnet at my wedding that is commonly assumed to be about a whore, but since it's Shakespeare, everyone assumes you're putting on airs...lol

Actually, the rules for guns on set are incredibly strict. This weapon should have been independently checked as safe on at least three occasions.

Obviously, said rules were not followed.

    Guilty conscience?;)

Gun accidents and gun misuse are so commonplace in the USA because guns are everywhere and people are so casual about their presence, compared to how they are treated in Europe, for example. Nobody thought it mattered that the 24 yr old "armourer" had next to no experience.

The latest issue of Private Eye has a piece on this incident:

The whole of the United States is still reeling over one of the most distressing incidents in its long history of fatal shootings. Said one ashen-faced witness, "We've never seen anything like it. A shooting that didn't involve either a cop or a black man. It beggars belief." Another stunned passer by added, "And who'd have thought it would happen here? On a Western movie set? If it had been a high school, it might make some kind of sense."

A spokesman for the National Rifle Association declared, "There's a clear lesson to be learned from this tragedy. If only the entire film crew had been armed with sub-machine guns, they'd have been able to shoot Alec Baldwin before he pulled the trigger."

More cars = more car wrecks
As I have pointed out and provided links for, the NRA has many resources and safety programs (which Alec Baldwin opposes and apparently did not pay attention to) I wonder if he opposes driver education?
