Adult Adoption

I'm going to be Adult Adopted by more distant related family members, because my birth family despises people Transitioning, and I'm not quite to the level I need, fully recovered in health, where I can move a hundred miles away and live out my life fully independent, I feel.

This wasn't a decision made lightly. It was after my family pulled several stunts which broke my trust beyond repair. Including telling me that I wanted to Transition to get revenge on my Christian family, them, for some random, undefined incident in my past, which couldn't be further from the truth.

Just looking for a few soft words on the matter. I don't want people here to worry though, as I've got some great people helping me, professionals. Going to get through this.

I don't have perfect health. It's not bad, but it's not quite to the extent of a normal person.

Adult Adoption is just what it says, in my state it's an adult being moved to the care of different family members, adopting the different family members as their family.

Really the only other alternative is me being cared for by medical professionals in a home or "borrowed" apartment, and though that sounds perfect, it isn't always so in reality.

Families should be a source of support, but it doesn't always work that way. I won't pretend to understand your position, but if you need to look outside your family for support, by all means do it.

I'm assuming the "adult adoption" comes with some legal advantages. Also, is your transitioning a transgender thing (I only ask because we've been involved with our bass player's transition for the last 2 and a half years).
